  1. Home schedule is really weak.Wouldn’t be surprised if early lines have us favored by a TD or more in every game.
  2. Another Veach gem. Can we keep him? Sports Radio 810 WHB @SportsRadio810 · 3h “I know it’s a business but I’ve told my agents and I’ve told everybody in the Kansas City Chiefs organization I’d love to be back.” - @TheBeastPennel
  3. Nice post and I agree with most especially the last part here. Very important to note our struggles and Pats struggles had a ton to do with everyone on the oline except Schwartz struggling with that dline. Ultimately like he does in most games, Mahomes got the last laugh. I mean the fact WASP was his idea is just the stuff of legend. I would add though Williams converted both fourth downs including the now famous shift to Rose Bowl Parade Right direct snap to Damien who got within inches of what would’ve been his third TD. Also converted a big third down in Chiefs territory on that first TD drive. Andy put him in a central role in this game from the get go and he responded every big spot we needed. That said it’s inconceivable to me to think Mahomes wasn’t the MVP. He’s the catalyst of everything the 49ers were great at stopping all year especially with a lead. And they simply couldn’t.
  4. Mahomes just exists almost on a different plane than anyone else in how he impacts the game in so many ways. Mentally he’s just ahead of everyone else and physically he’s simply more gifted. There was no other choice than for him to be MVP and I’d bet our entire locker room would agree.
  5. Fuller was out with that broken finger for about 6 games but when he came back he got his slot corner spot back from Fenton who went to the bench. And the D really was thriving. Fenton only went back in after Thornhill got hurt and they went to a lot of safety for Fuller. As such his versatility and age really seems to work in his favor. He also graded out very high down the stretch and was fantastic in the Super Bowl. Ill disagree with you guys here. I’d think resigning him would be a priority for Veach. We will find out really soon. Either way drafting an outside corner early makes a ton of sense.
  6. I’d say #4 and the 60 million in guaranteed money you can use elsewhere could Realistically make the team better overall. It’s a gamble no matter what you do.
  7. Agree our CAP realities doesn’t preclude us from resigning him but it’s got to make Brett take pause if Jones can command the haul he’s worth. I think we want him back and will go with mostly rookie contracts around he and Clark to make it work. I’d just top 5 overall but I think that’s gonna he tough to get. He is worth it though! I hate tagging players and hoping it works out because that has a way of eating at a locker room and really drawing the long term ire of a player. But that’s almost certainly where this starts.
  8. Yep. He gone. Question is do you think we are going to lockdown the 24 year old Fuller?
  9. GMFB @gmfb · 7h .@Chiefs CB and Super Bowl Champ @Bree2Land6 is set to become an unrestricted free agent. Why should teams be fighting to get him this offseason? "I bring a lot of physicality. I'm a tackling CB, I can play multiple positions in the secondary, and I bring a competitive nature."
  10. Jones is elite. He's not really replaceable, certainly with anyone on our current roster. That said our D line did play pretty well when he was out. Its an overall very deep group.
  11. I really don't care. It was the first Mahomes string I ran across. It's all applicable to me.
  12. The market has been set and Detroit’s second round pick isn’t nearly enough. If teams won’t pay, we won’t trade. We have the leverage, not them.
  13. We basically gave up the 18th pick for Frank Clark. That’s my absolute bare minimum starting point for even considering a trade.
  14. Actually when one of the “contenders” has such a clearly inferior QB there’s not a more relevant topic of why the Chiefs are favored to do it again and Mahomes further separates himself on this list.
  15. Forgot about that. He did think Haley was going to win multiple Super Bowls in his next gig. And instead he’s been fired as OC twice
  16. People that cover the Chiefs on a daily basis will tell you that Andy Reid isn't even thinking about retirement anytime soon. Why would you want to leave a 24 year old once in a generation talent at QB anyway!
  17. Nate Christensen @natech479 · 19h Patrick Mahomes Playoff Stats: 4-1, 62.5 comp%, 1474 yards, 13 TDs, 2 INTs, 106.6 passer rating, 24 carries, 135 yds, 2 TDs Lamar Jackson: 0-2, 51.1%, 559 yards, 3 TDs, 3 INTs, 68.3 rating, 20 carries, 143 yards, 0 TDs
  18. DBG was the biggest John Dorsey lover and Brett Veach hater on the planet. It was very odd. He became very irrational about it. Man was he wrong!
  19. Three Super Bowl defenses for Spags now and the best thing is it’s been year two his defenses really emerge.
  20. Do you realize in his 5 playoff games in Kansas City he’s scored TEN TDs? Think about that. Andy made him a big time part of the game plan and gave him the ball in the most crucial situations in this game. This wasn’t just a 5th or 6th option. He was an absolutely crucial piece. Andy trusted him so much nobody else got meaningful touches and Shady wasn’t even active. I think you are really selling him short in my opinion. He’s not a great RB (or even that good overall). But he’s consistently been great when we really needed him to be.
  21. Williams not only had stellar stats but he came up huge at crucial times including phenomenal plays on both of our last two TDs. Nobody in this game was more crucial to this win. Except for Mahomes. MVP isn’t just about stats of which Mahomes had two of the longest pass plays of the season vs 49ers in the last 7 minutes of the Super Bowl. 49ers players on the sideline truly looked rattled after WASP. “What happened?” George Kittle said in dismay. And who’s idea was the play call. Mahomes. Go read the quotes from players on both sides of the ball and it was Mahomes leadership that kept this team believing even as we were trying to figure things out and the 49ers were milking clock in victory mode. Once we scored and got back in it watching him on the sidelines was just magic. “We are scoring every drive the rest of the game.” It’s just the stuff of legend. The reason he was not only MVP of this game, but also why he’s the best player in the entire league.
  22. Chris Jones extension looms large here with tag and trade being something Veach would do if they can’t afford another 100 million dollar contract. Almost certain to impact pick 32 in some way.
  23. This sequence was really amazing (the video is actually posted in another string somewhere). Love how they show it against NE and their corners basically just said great route. It was the perfect call at the perfect time. Imagine how many teams would have the cajones to call a 50 yard pass in that situation.
  24. I think reasonably we replace Robinson with another 4th round developmental type and Sammy with a short term prove it type deal from a red zone threat. Major stretch to think Andy and Brett would see Dez as that guy. But they will certainly be looking for value. So much this offseason hinges on Chris Jones contract. Hard to see a plan until we know what the plan is there.
  25. The fact Richard Sherman couldn’t handle our number 3 receiving option was a big factor in the W. Only thing more important on offense besides Mahomes was the 49ers being unable to contain Williams. We simply had more weapons than they did and a better coach to pull it all together.
