  1. You are underestimating how well this Tennessee team is playing. Beat BB on the road and then beating up the 1 seed who hadn’t lost in 3 months on the road. Those are two really well coached teams too (as we clearly are) so Vrabel is holding his own. They are also healthy. I predict a dog fight if we can’t figure out Henry without putting ourselves into too many one on one situations with two very talented WRs. Neither Harbaugh or Belichick figured that riddle out. Can Andy Reid.
  2. Scary thing is our Dline is likely missing Okafor, Ogbah, Jones and Speaks. That’s half of our projected two deep rotation including. Yet I still have some confidence there.
  3. Based on Terez Paylor and Andy Reid, I'd call him doubtful for Sunday. But not out yet.
  4. There was a lot of mix and match and perhaps trial and error by Spags trying to replace Thornhill. Speaks volumes about how good Thornhill was this year. And that Spags can dig deep and look outside the obvious box to try and hide those coverages like he does so well. It was clear however we missed Thorn on Sunday.
  5. The leadership from Honey Badger and Clark was just gigantic in creating a new culture. This isn't a great defense by any means. Some real holes there Spags has had to cover up. But they just have a different mentality. Huge coaching upgrade up and down the defensive staff didn't hurt.
  6. We still have to give Speaks a real opportunity with this current defensive staff. They did wonders for Tanoh and I think we all know Speaks was playing out of position last year. It wasn't a good draft but then again when you start without any top 50 picks that makes it tough. I think Brett Veach like anyone else has had to grow into this position. Definite learning curve. But man has he done a phenomenal job of flipping players we didn't want into productive young guys with more upside.
  7. Based on Andy's comments and Terez Paylor yesterday its pretty clear it will be a surprise if Chris Jones can play on Sunday. Basically shutting him down and will look at him again on Saturday. For what its worth in the odd saga of Mo Claiborne, he was back at practice today. Also should be noted Vivid Seats ticket analyzing data suggests there will be a ton of Titans fans at the game. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 20,000 to be exact. Kind of ironic considering there weren't much more than that in Nashville. Ticket brokers control a ton of the AFC Title game tickets so its not surprising.
  8. Over 250 games at Arrowhead for me. I've seen it all. Except for us hoisting the Lamar Hunt Trophy. I just want to see it one time. And 1 Lombardi to follow. After that this whole thing would be less stressful and all fun. But make no mistake, if it doesn't happen I will not regret my fandom for one minute. Simply met too many great people and had to many great experiences along the way.
  9. Just to be clear. You are suggesting that the analytics based on historical data tell us that the historical data when it comes to this statistic are not relevant? I'm confused by the 2011 statistic. From what I see we were dead last in the NFL converting only 33 percent of trips to the red zone into TDs. That's beyond awful. But a pretty good indicator of how bad that offense was. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/red-zone-scoring-pct?date=2012-02-05 The Chiefs had become bottom feeders in the red zone in Alex Smiths last two years. One of the big reasons we paid so much for another red zone threat in Sammy Watkins. Our ability or willingness to run the ball in the red zone had become a problem since losing Jamaal Charles. And we had a QB unwilling to challenge tight windows that it takes to be successful in the passing game there. In other words to me again there are a lot of factors that go into a teams success and failure in the red zone. And luck is way down there. Even last week our positive regression was almost certainly in part because we were playing the worst red zone defense in the NFL. But hey if we finish in the red zone like that the next two games, we will win the Super Bowl. https://arrowheadaddict.com/2018/06/24/chiefs-red-zone-offense-will-dramatically-improve-2018/
  10. Good point on the FGs. But I think until the playoffs started they were actually a bad red zone D. Maybe I’m wrong. I know their red zone offense was the best in the NFL.
  11. Even down 24-7, I thought we were gonna win after that play.
  12. Jones played. I have a vivid recollection of him completely gassed standing around midfield trying to call timeout.
  13. Somehow there are people that don't appreciate just how good Andy Reid is at game planning and making adjustments. I watched the replay last night and Tony Romo kept saying "once Andy Reid figures you out Your'e in trouble." With this QB it goes beyond trouble and into the historic. Now can he figure out his nemesis team?
  14. The Chiefs have now won playoff games 3 of the last 5 years. Divisional games in back to back seasons. Come back from 24 points down to win. Those Chiefs that were always outmatched by January are gone. There's just no similiarity between those teams and what we have now. It by no means guarantees a win on Sunday. In fact the Titans have long been krytponite to Andy. But I guarantee its not because players in that locker room feel pressure from some "cursed" teams in the 90s. These guy believe. Its truly a different era.
  15. We weren’t gonna get beat by Tannehill so it was absolutely crucial for the Titans to get a big day out of Henry. The odd thing is that it’s very clear we gambled we’d build a big lead and mitigate Henry’s value. And from that perspective we made some crucial mistakes which kept that gamble from working. And I’d absolutely agree those mistakes were the biggest factor in that loss. im on board with the idea its not necessarily how many yards he gets. It’s how he gets them. If you showed me that TOP chart I would have bet $5000 we won. Again showing nothing trumps big turnovers and timely miscues.
  16. You should not lose when you only punt once in a game. We had their defense so off balance in the first half they couldn't get off the field. We were just pulverizing them in possession time and it was obvious they were very tired. But our mistakes kept them in the game and kept Henry relevant. And Henry rushed for 138 yards and 2 TDs in the second half which not only kept the game within reach but started to wear our defense down. By the last possession our D had no gas left and the Titans ripped through us easily.
  17. Yep. My bad. Caught the game tying TD in the comeback win over the Steelers.
  18. Absolutely no doubt. The Titans running game is just massively important to their success. You can't stop it, but we need to contain it. Most importantly we don't want to get gauged for 5 yards on first down all day. Get the D off the field and more possessions for the MVP.
  19. Yep. For us it’s about a functional running game. And most important to that are short yardage and red zone plays. Damien Williams had two rushing TDs and Mahomes made those safeties pay for running with those vertical routes. Not asking a lot but what we need there is important. Meanwhile I’d love to see a box score where Henry has under 20 carries.
  20. All true. Funny thing is there was a long time I looked at that era with 3 division titles in 5 years and an AFC Title game berth as almost unattainable again. And now here we are out doing that era and hopefully even more. Again it all goes back to that QB to pair with the HC. Anything’s possible now.
  21. JJ Birden, Willie Davis and Fred Barnett were the primary WRs. Actually an underrated group IMO. Jonathan Hayes and Keith Cash at TE. Kimble Anders and Marcus Allen in the backfield. Maybe most important that oline was pretty darn good. Still Joe could only muster his magic in short bursts by that time. Still it should have drawn King Carl a roadmap on what we needed to be true factors in January.
  22. There’s nothing like the vibe walking out of Arrowhead after a playoff win. I can’t even fathom the feeling if we hoist the Lamar Hunt Trophy. You can’t put a price tag on that. But if we don’t get it done it won’t have anything to do anything with you or me or even Bad Luck Chuck did.
  23. He’s going to get exposed a little more without Thornhill (he played every defensive snap) but overall Spags really seems to grasp how to use him. And there’s no denying his penchant for making big plays in January. Back to back games he’s come up with a few huge plays.
  24. Reality is there’s some subjectiveness to officiating in about any team sport. I think it’s fine as long as they call it the same for both teams.
  25. Anyone that walked out on this QB should be permanately banned. With the exception of Bad Luck Chuck. He left because his friends day he's got the worst luck ever and if we wanted any chance to come back, he had to leave. He made a VLOG of him leaving the game and explaining why and now that's gone viral. People have literally been sending him money not to go next week. Pretty funny. I can at least respect leaving for this reason (although it had nothing to do with anything)
