  1. Buddy’s defense and Super Joe got all the press. But it was the Chiefs D with an absolutely incredible 9 sacks, 14 QB hits and 4 FF that stole the show. KC teams simply own Houston teams when it matters most by the way.
  2. The biggest difference between Alex and Mahomes besides the far superior arm is the instinctive pocket presence and ability to keep the head up and going through progressions. Alex was awful at it, PM15 is elite. That said he’s not wrong Alex would be the second best QB in this division. But in fairness two of the three teams have 22 year old unproven guys with superior arms but have proven nothing. Carr is indeed Alex minus the running ability.
  3. The Chiefs were 9-0 with Fish at LT. He’s not overpaid.
  4. Tough to see any scenario that let’s Arrowhead be Arrowhead this year. And we’ve been tbe best road team in the league since Andy got here. IE..the virus likely hurts us more than most contenders. That said we are clearly the best team.
  5. Key for 2019 (and really 2018) is that we were as healthy as could possibly be expected in January. I think that fact likely helped crystallize to Andy the extreme need to replace Sutton. That said anyone predicting 19-0 is crazy.
  6. 25% of revenue lost is a massive number. It’s not as much as tv which is why the NFL will go to extremes to play even with no fans. But it’s a HUGE revenue loss that could dramatically impact the salary cap with its numbers directly reflected in total revenue. Good news is this should hopefully only be temporary. But nobody knows.
  7. No fans means a loss of a staggering 3.2 BILLION in revenue. Owners aren’t gonna eat that! And the CBA means they have a means not to have too.
  8. I heard it mentioned today they might allow teams to exempt a few large contracts signed before this actually happens. If that’s the case the timeline for signing Mahomes just got a lot smaller. If I was Jones I’d have that franchise tag signed tonight. NFL Update@MySportsUpdate Something to monitor: The salary cap in 2021 could potentially take a massive hit due to COVID-19. "The various estimates I've gotten from executives to owners is that the cap could be down anywhere $30M to $80M in 2021" — @AdamSchefter
  9. Dee Ford had really won me over as a pash rusher in 2018 and I mainly didn't want to sign him because of the back issues. He seemed like a good guy to actually have play under the franchise tag. But after he completely dissappeared in the AFC Title game (outside of the unexusable mental gaffe) I was ready to move on.
  10. But he only does that half the time because he’s hurt so often. It’s why the 49ers couldn’t move him. Not to mention reality Frank Clark had more sacks in one playoff game for us this year than Dee Ford has in eight playoff games in his career.
  11. Ogbah played well here but reality is we were 9-0 and played our best D after he got hurt. Clearly though Veach thought he needed a replacement with quick addition of Taco. Loser here appears to be Speaks.
  12. Don’t forget the potential comp pick if Daly and Spags can get Tacos career headed in the right direction like they did Ogbah. So it’s actually Ogbah in exchange for Taco, a 5Th rounder and another potential 5th rounder in addition to saving 3 million vs the CAP. Veach gets it. Add clear upside players at almost no risk in contract years.
  13. Deadline is Monday. 14 of 32 teams have done it and all this week.
  14. Not sure this quote is the perfect fit here but it’s too good not to share. Nate Burleson was asked what’s the better strategy. Replicate the Chiefs speed or defend it? “I don’t think you can do either.”
  15. Absolutely true the spin of a left footed kick has an awkward opposite spin and it definitely caused problems for returners. Teams got smart though and used left footed Jugs machines, some would even bring in left footed punters to practice against before games to counter this. It’s still a challenge and helped make him unique. He was also an very reliable holder. He’s got an outside shot at the HOF if he can play a few more seasons somewhere. Most likely he will have to settle for our ring of honor.
  16. This time though Veach can be aggressive and move up to target a few guys.
  17. Sounds like he’s being released. Move would save about 2 million. Harold R. Kuntz @HaroldRKuntz3 · 35m Dustin Colquitt just posted this on Instagram. This may be it after 15 years in a #Chiefs uniform and countless efforts to help in the KC community. “Been an honor that I never took for granted. Thank You KC.”
  18. Bird Law Expert liked Matt Conner @MattConnerAA · 6h If the #Chiefs can keep from signing a unrestricted FA by Monday at 3pm C.T., they will have the following picks in the 2021 NFL Draft: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 4th (comp - Kendall Fuller) 5th 5th (comp - Emmanuel Ogbah) 7th
  19. Understand your point but reality is most drafts only have 15-20 players with legit first round grades. So it you get a multiple Pro Bowl performer at 32 he has outperformed his draft position and could hence be considered a steal. It’s completely irrelevant semantics though.
  20. Outside of CEH, I doubt any of our picks will have more than a small carved out role in addition to special teams in 2020. The more teams have to rely on rookies, the more trouble they are.
  21. Agree. Tyrod Taylor is gonna start at QB though so short term it doesn’t matter.
  22. One massive flaw with this approach is that they don’t have Mahomes. A track meet is exactly what we want! Chargers adding defense makes more sense.
  23. People are getting way too caught up in the first round thing. PIck 32 is a tough place to draft for a reason. We didn't have draft capital to move up or position so that we could trade back. So Veach took the best player available on our board. I'd much rather do that at a non value position that reach for a player we don't like as much as a value position. This kid can help us and do it quickly. And he's fun to watch play. Added bonus is that he just turned 21 last week and doesn't have a lot of wear and tear. Plus he only fumbled 1 time in over 400 touches.
  24. How many people were ready to fire the front office and head coach? It’s beyond comical really.
  25. I’d suspect the way they are trying to copy us that he ends up in Denver.
