  1. Dick Vermiel didn’t care about defense and it showed up on draft day and with a lack of playoff berths or wins.
  2. Except Ryan Sims was pick 6, not 46. I still have hope for Speaks as he played out of position last year and started flashing in camp late after coming in out of shape. Hopefully this nightmare year motivates him
  3. I talk all the time about how we have the entire AFC West’s number. Twice is nice against Balt but if we can knock them out of the playoffs, heck yes we’d have their number. Titans have beaten us three times in a row (twice at Arrowhead) and rallied from 10 plus down each time. That counts. This is a league of matchups v
  4. I think Hitchens is very solid vs the run but he’s limited and when asked to do too much it impacts him there too. A Sorenson type being paid like Bobby Wagner
  5. Hitchens was just a bad signing period. We paid for a 3 down versatile all around LB and it’s not who he is. Clark is a proven young do everything 4-3 DE. Healthier he is, the more we see it. Set edge in run game, get off blockers to make tackles and makes big plays in the backfield. He’s playing thru injuries this year. Just part of the game. HB is proving to to be solid signing. Okafor the same. Ogbah a nice trade. Veach has been far from perfect. And when you give up as much as he did for Clark, it’s certainly worthy of scrutiny. But he’s been solid and improving each year.
  6. He’s been WAY better than just okay the last month. His CAP hit this year is 7 million. Next year we will need the last 4 games guy all season to justify contract and trade. Likewise we really need it in the playoffs this year too.
  7. I must have had a lot of cocktails at that Ravens game because I could have sworn it was flexed. But indeed it wasn’t. It was the Raiders game that was flexed.
  8. Raiders thrice, Broncos in Mahomes first start, Chargers in 2018 opener, Ravens game last year flexed to 3, and one other I can’t think of. Mostly road games.
  9. BB leaves our RBs in a lot of one on one situations in the passing game where big plays are there to be had. Question is who’s gonna step up there with Williams out? Maybe a big key to the game.
  10. Patrick Mahomes is 7-0 in 3:00 games...This seems important. 😅
  11. Disaster year for him. He showed up at camp completely out of shape, gets a bad injury and busted for taking some type of PED (I'm betting to lose weight). Amazing thing for us is the loophole I just found out about where he can actually serve his suspension from the IR. So this won't impact 2020 at all.
  12. Where we have gotten into trouble is when we draft players in the first few rounds and then try to convert them to another position. I would agree that's a flawed philsophy so early in the draft. But the notion you should get a ready made starter in round 2 of the draft doesn't make sense. You should draft players on the first two days of the draft that you can carve out a role for during their rookie seasons. And expect that to happen. Mecole is a perfect example. Tons of upside from a raw WR who is still only 21 years old. We knew he wasn't rolling in here and producing a 1,000 yard, 10 TD season. But they also had a role in mind for him and it's worked well. Fact he doesn't start yet means nothing to his overall value. On that same token if you don't have any idea where a player fits initially, you probably shouldn't draft him in the first few rounds. Giving a D to this draft class is a joke.
  13. The two guys I listen too who evaluate film say he’s been a beast the last month. Also has 4 sacks, 6 QB pressures and 6 TFL in his last 4 despite playing through this neck deal. We need to find a way to get him as healthy as possible in January.
  14. So in a draft class without a first round pick we have already seen over 1,700 snaps from our rookies and gotten tangible big plays in the form of sacks, INTs, or TDs from Hardman, Thornhill, Saunders, Thompson and Fenton and you give the group a D grade. Good grief! This is a three time division winner not some 2-14 team looking to turn over the entire roster. That's a ton of snaps and production from a bunch of 2nd-7th round picks.
  15. He’s sick? I thought he was dealing with a shoulder/neck deal?
  16. A D for the Andy Reid regime? Are you nuts! They drafted the freakin league MVP and started with the 27th pick. They drafted one of the best tight ends in NFL history. One of the top 5 WRs in the NFL. The leagues leading rusher in 2017. One of the top 3 interior pass rushers. And now a safety who's graded out as a top 5 safety in the league over his past 4 games. We've got 4 rookies from last years draft without a first round pick all contributing. Whats lacked here are LB and Olinemen. Overall a team that wins as much as we do can't possibly get a D as this entire roster outside of punter was built since Andy got here.
  17. Someone has to end the Patriots unbelievable 21 game home winning streak. Might as well be us. But they are clearly a much better team at home.
  18. To me this is clearly a more competent complimentary defense with the caveat that we still have a few gaping holes that are going to get exposed at times.
  19. You aren’t really buying into Brady being limited or the Patriots injury report at all are you?
  20. Xavier Williams was just designated for return and will start practicing. The Chiefs have 3 weeks to decide whether to activate him. This could be a nice piece to add back into the playoff rotation with Ogbah and Speaks already out for the season.
  21. That's pretty much all the Chiefs have been doing the last two weeks. And fans blast Andy for play calling. Reality is we don't need a 2003 offensive line with this QB. We just need a solid group. And its just not that in any way so far this year. Hopefully Fish is working his way back to near 100 percent by the playoffs and it could help. As will this group actually playing a few games together again. But for the most part I think only a talent infusion will net the results we really need. In the meantime Andy's gotta adjust the play calling accordingly.
  22. Penalties, a big turnover and special teams miscues absolutely cost us a game we should have won. We’ve lost three straight games to them and blown big leads in all of them.
  23. I don't disagree. BB is the best coach in NFL history for a reason. But that said, there are teams that play styles which give his teams consistent problems as well. As for the Chiefs we've lost to the Titans three straight times now where we had a 10 plus point lead. I can't really explain it, but nobody else in the league has done it more than once in the Reid era.
  24. Interior oline gets blown up with regularity for sure. I also think Mahomes looks a little gun shy about the knee since he came back. As you said too many backfoot passes.
  25. He had a big catch on the first play of that last series in regulation in the AFC Championship game. Not an easy catch at all. Put us in position for Robinson to get us in FG range on the next pass.
