  1. If we can actually win our last three home games, we win the West. I think it’s that simple at this point. But easier said than done.
  2. Make no mistake, the Chiefs D just saved the season.
  3. Bell and his 15-20 snaps on a special teams already playing very poorly are out. I expect a bounce back game and think Dave Toub probably spearheaded this move. But man are we woefully thin on the Dline.
  4. This is less about the defense and more about penalties, turnovers and general unforced errors. Cut that stuff back and we'd be 8-2.
  5. Brandon Kiley @BKSportsTalk · 1h The #Chiefs only defensive ends expected to be active tonight are Frank Clark & Tanoh Kpassagnon. I'm sure Jones will play a lot of DE too. But this is a real concern at 7200 feet. Andy and Spags need a plan to protect them.
  6. One of the bigger games between these two classic rivals in the last 25 years.
  7. We are at this tipping point where this can become a lost season very quickly behind some players who maybe aren't all in with what we are doing. Or this can become a group getting healthy and putting it together for a Super Bowl run. Either almost seems equally as possible right now. That's a weird place to be.
  8. The way its been since Mahomes took over there will be a line at 7 AM for sure. Tailgating before the tailgate is pretty common. A little to much for me because I have trouble monitoring my drinking. LOL
  9. So he shows up a little early. Nothing wrong with that at Arrowhead!
  10. We are missing DE2, DE3, DE4 and DT2....and hence Spags didn't have confidence in some of the replacements last week to get the two full rotations he had been using. The result was a completely gassed DLine the last drive. Chris Jones was a complete mess he was so tired. So making SURE to get these guys rest at 9,000 feet is crucial, even if it means giving up some big plays. We want gas left in the tank at the end if we need it.
  11. He was awful in Tennessee. Have assed it all day. He really needs to step it up tonight!
  12. This is a business and the International games expand fan base and revenues. IE. They are being expanded in every sport, not retracted. Same reason they won’t drop preseason games without adding revenue stream to offset that. I’m all for seeding based on record. But to exclude a division winner from the playoffs makes having divisions pointless. And that’s bad for the game.
  13. Players don’t get screwed. They will have to agree to it in the new CBA or it won’t happen.
  14. The scenario most talked about would take away a full priced preseason game off the plate of season ticket holders. Eliminate the injury risk of two preseason games. Add an extra bye week to get players healthier and contribute to better football. And get rid of the pointless inactive list. You likely permanently add the early game to Sunday morning which they can market and sell separately. And teams would no longer be asked to give up any home games for international games. Players aren’t gonna love the extra game. But this seems to me like everyone ultimately gains.
  15. Adding teams to the postseason would make the regular season as irrelevant as the NBA or NHL. And that is completely contrary to the NFLs big game philosophy which sets it apart from any other sport. I don’t love adding another game because of that. But if it means two fewer preseason games I’m all in. Plus if they want to play neutral site games they no longer have to steal it from home teams.
  16. I’d roll with LDT and Wiz if that’s possible.
  17. The Patriots don’t have the WRs to challenge corners downfield with any consistency or a QB with the arm strength at this point to do it either. It’s our absolute biggest strength both at QB and WR. Seth Keysor of the Athletic wrote a good story about a month ago where he made a good case we pass more, not less. What it seems like you are suggesting is we go back to Alex Smith offense?
  18. Should be noted the Chiefs absolutely dominated the time of possession on Sunday by passing it more than any other game.
  19. The linemen is where the majority belongs though IMO. To date this is the worst run blocking line we’ve had in a long time. Combine that with average runners who are more adept in space and we get a lot of inconsistency.
  20. You are correct that the bottom of the roster gets the most out of it. At least if they make the team. But lets face it, there aren't more than 7-10 spots even open going into training camp and starters play so little and there's so little tackling that it doesn't help almost anything. Its sloppy football largely played by backups who would rarely ever play together or non NFL caliber players and the price to attend is exactly the same as a regular season game. I think nearly any veteran would tell you playing 4 preseason games simply isn't necessary. And to convert one of those into a meaningful game makes total sense to me. Owners will never give the game day money away unless they get it back somewhere else. Almost nobody wants these games though and everyone from players to coaches to owners know it. One regular season game added could mean subracting two preseason games. This is an absolute no brainer to me when combined with getting rid of the completely pointless inactive list.
  21. All true. Andy messed up and gave the ball back to GB thus ending any chance we had in that game. But nitpicking play selection and attaching that to the not being aggressive enough or knowing how to close out games monicker makes no sense to me.
  22. We need to play the type of run defense we did against Minnesota and Denver. Force their very shaky oline to have to hold up under duress. Offensively they can create a ton of pressure without bringing extra guys. Keeping them off Mahomes and forcing them to blitz some of the time seems important. This is their Super Bowl. We are gonna get their best effort and they just pounded GB a few weeks ago. We MUST match that intensity or have more.
  23. Herbie Teope @HerbieTeope · 51m The best news in today's injury report for the #Chiefs? LT Eric Fisher (groin) and RG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (ankle) put in full practices. For Fisher, that's his first full practice since undergoing surgery for a sports hernia in mid-September. He's trending up to return. twitter.com/Chiefs/status/
  24. Counterpoint would be anything that reduces the number of meaningless preseason games season ticket holders have to pay full price for is a good thing. IE..I think that's VERY broken.
  25. Teams know Williams tendencies and the MASSIVE downgrade at LT has been a house of cards for the oline.
