  1. Spags said priority one right now is stopping the run. And last week may have been our best performance there in years against an elite RB. Coverage is going to be a problem with our LBs and it’s really what cost us ve Jones He didn’t do a ton in the running game So I’d agree they will hammer Henry at us But we need to be concerned as much with Lewis
  2. If only it was that simple. Tannehill destroyed the Chargers.
  3. It took two big time clutch kicks, a great finish by the defense and a shanked punt to get that win though. If Mahomes is ready we need him to play. If he’s not then it’s a no brainer. Good news is nobody new got hurt. But we can’t put the MVP in bubble wrap.
  4. Titans will be in playoff mode and have a good defense and running game. Gonna be thousands of Chiefs fans there to help mitigate home field. I think Mahomes plays but we should know either way by Friday.
  5. aig Stout @barleyhop · 16m Spags countered some 21p looks on third down this week with a 4-0 quarter formation -- removing the off-ball linebackers and replacing them with safeties for their coverage ability. KC had 4 safeties (Mathieu, Thornhill, Sorensen, Lucas) on the field with 3 CB's and 4 DL.
  6. It’s not like Spags is some kind of guru, he’s competent and is respected and smart enough to surround himself with quality people. It’s why we liked the hire. A few right moves in the offseason and our defense could legitimately be good in 2020. For now it’s about developing young players and trying to coach around a few big weaknesses. Something we simply couldn’t do under Sutton.
  7. Same with the LB coach House. It’s not his fault the guys he’s been given can’t cover anyone. But in run defense they have been more GAP disciplined and swarming the RBs better the last month than we’ve seen the last 3 seasons. Hitchens, Ragland and Wilson have all become very solid vs the run.
  8. Fisher is a victim of his draft position. He isn’t close to.what people consider a prototypical 1A talent. Had he been a late first rounder he’d be appreciated more for what he is. And that’s a solid mainly reliable player. Schwartz is clearly our best tackle though. Maybe Fisher could aptly be compared to Alex Smith. Not top ten but somewhere in that next 10-15 guys. Problem is he’s been replaced by a complete bottom feeder and that has further exposed what was already below average guard play. What we’ve learned is this group needs some attention both from a developmental tackle and an upper level interior lineman. As for Mahomes. He will play when they tell Andy he’s ready. And judging by the way he was running and jumping after we won on Sunday, that’s coming very soon. Sadly the reality is just like Matt Moore on Sunday, he will likely continue to take a beating.
  9. Scott Kacsmar @ScottKacsmar · 2h #NFL Most consecutive games without losing by more than 8 points, active streaks 1. Chiefs - 35 2. Texans - 9 2. Chargers - 9 4. Colts - 8 4. 49ers - 8 6. Steelers - 7 7. Saints - 6
  10. I’m not.a big Breeland fan. I could let him walk and claim the comp pick. Fuller is the guy to me we really need to watch. His ceiling is high but he’s been so inconsistent. I think he’s only 24 though and a guy I can see being a good player for years to come. Tough call.
  11. He only played in 35 percent of the defensive snaps though.
  12. I think actual ownership of the tickets is all the matters. You're welcome to your opinion, but ultimately the only opinion that matters is the one who is in control of the decisions.
  13. If you look at the snap counts its very clear that Ward has become the number one corner. Breeland and Claiborne are basically playing half the game. Fenton has increased his snap counts and is now closing in on the veterans. I think Fuller would be really high as well minus the injury. But it does create a situation where we can draft and sign a player and that position if fixed. Then sign or draft a cover LB. All of a sudden this defense wouldn't have any weaknesses.
  14. Or better said freedom to sell those tickets to anyone they damn well please as well. If people don’t like it, buy the tickets themselves.
  15. The biggest ripoff in sports is the NFL forcing season ticket holders to buy full price preseason tickets. It’s why I gave my tickets up after 25 years. So if I have tickets and can recoup some of that wasted money by selling a few regular season games, damn straight I get it. I did it with several Royals playoff games. Plus i know people who sold tickets to either GB or Minn game to pay for upcoming road trip. Like most games there will be thousands of Chiefs fans in Nashville
  16. Impressive. Right before our eyes Ward has emerged into our top corner. Just ask Stefon!@
  17. It's almost like Williams looked over and Tyreek scared him...like where the heck did you come from!
  18. I talked to a handful of Vikings fans after the game and that said they paid big money for tickets to this game because they wanted to see Patrick Mahomes. Very clear losing to a third string backup on a walk off FG wasn't what they thought they were paying for. LOL
  19. Vikings last six offensive plays yesterday...-7 yards! No question Spags and this defense are turning a corner.
  20. CB Charvarius Ward was targeted 7 times, allowing only 3 REC for 24 yds. DL Chris Jones had 7 QB pressures. Had the highest grade for #Chiefs vs run & in pass rush. When "under pressure," #Chiefs DEF held Kirk Cousins to 4/16 for 55 yds.
  21. And at this point the CAP savings for releasing him is only 1,093,750. When you consider the CAP hit of adding another player to the roster, this becomes pretty inconsequential. It really comes down to do they think they need that roster spot for another position or to possibly protect a PS player.
  22. Also 3 straight weeks we have held a very good rushing game in check. This defense isn't good by any means. But we are seeing at coordinator who can actually scheme to take things away from our opponents. Cousins didn't handle it well either. Well done by Spags. And again without looking the PFF grades by the eye test Ward looked like he had yet another solid game. Physical player who makes his presence known on the field and not in a bad way. He's still learning but he looks like a big time keeper.
  23. If this was the beginning of the season and we had two healthy QBs. No. The PS can be the fallback plan for a 3rd QB. At this point though with it being November and not really being sure how Mahomes knee will hold up, I think you keep him. His value in that QB room probably trumps any roster addition we can add at this point. And the CAP ramifications at this point are very small.
  24. He doesn't have Alex's mobility, but not a ton different otherwise. Andy could probably turn Mariota into a Pro Bowler. All in all though our CAP hits with Alex were in line with his production. We traded him at the perfect time!
