  1. No real reason to release Henne. With Mahomes knee situation combined with our oline issues I think they will want to protect themselves. Its too late in the season to mess with that QB room any more than they have too
  2. Its Andy Reid 101. The guy may be the best ever at coaching QBs up. He's probably giving us 80 percent of what Alex Smith did for the league minimum. The offense has definitely been scaled back but his ability to take care of the ball and take hits makes him effective. I think the MVP plays next week though.
  3. Consistency of this team under Andy Reid is pretty amazing. We beat a damn good team today with a 3rd string QB. We nitpick some bad decisions but overall we are a really well coached team.
  4. So you don’t believe in capitalism? Always amuses me when people who don’t own season tickets try to tell people who do what they should do with them.
  5. Looks like Mahomes and Clark are close but sitting out one more week. Clark’s neck improved “dramatically” through the week so they are likely being cautious with both. Chris Jones will play. Tough challenge minus key players but man do we need this. Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes, listed as questionable due to his knee injury, is expected to miss his second straight game Sunday, per source. Chiefs’ QB Matt Moore will start vs. the Vikings. Ian Rapoport ✔@RapSheet The #Chiefs have a few other key injuries besides just QB Patrick Mahomes. Source said DE Frank Clark (neck) is unlikely to play and if he does, he’ll be extremely limited. Meanwhile with two full practices this week, DT Chris Jones (groin) is in good position to return.
  6. Part of being a great QB is consistency that Cousins has never had. Anyone can get hot for stretches. Even then, Cousins isn’t in Rodgers league. He’s playing great the last month largely because Dalvin Cook is elite and commanding so much attention. Without him Cousins is kind of a king of the checkdown type guy in the Alex Smith mode. But play action will work a lot when you have an Emmitt Smith type runner
  7. Fisher tried to go last week and Andy said he wasn't ready. He said they would wait until he's ready to try again. I'd think Fish is looking at coming back after the bye.
  8. We have questionable statuses for Jones, Clark and Fuller but all three practiced today and it looks possible all three might play on Sunday. That would help!
  9. Unlike last week Andy said today they have not ruled Mahomes out for Sunday. I think he's ready but they likely hold off another week anyway.
  10. Mahomes remained the number 2 QB in practice today so I think its obvious they are still looking at the Tennesee game for his return. We will see at Andy's presser though. Good news is Frank Clark practiced today. We will see how the neck responded. Would be really nice to have him and Jones (even at 75 percent).
  11. Veach thought he was getting a versatile playmaker in Hitchens (who played really well next to a stud LB Lee in Dallas). This is why finding that LB is so important for next year because it would really get Hitchens back more in his comfort zone. The past few weeks it seems Spags has done that himself in some regard, however there's no getting around our LBs lack of versatility. If I'm the Vikings, thats what I attack. Get us off balance and then hammer us with what has been the best RB in the NFL to date.
  12. Alabama runs a base 3-4. So did the Bills until they switched and then traded him to us. He’s a two down Mike. Our problem is so is Hitchens in my opinion. We just don’t have any true three down LBs. But when those two are on the field our rush defense has definitely improved.
  13. He got beaten up in the running game last year. Just can’t hold his space and get through blocks. He’s closer to a safety than a LB at this level.
  14. Absolutely. And Spags agreed with you based on his comments yesterday. Nothing matters if we can’t slow down Cook. The guy is an absolute beast.
  15. Clearly they don’t think it translates at least yet into an ability to cover. And he’s too small to be in the base defense. 0 snaps is hard to fathom though. This guy was an elite linebacker at Clemson.
  16. Understanding we are handicapped and the Vikings are not going to get anywhere near our best, my hope is that the mindset of the team is they are defintely get our best effort regardless because losing 4 in a row at home is completely unacceptable. Championship teams should never accept moral victories. In a 16 game season you aren't going to get your best effort every single week. But this is a gigantic game for the coaching staff to employ their team to give it on Sunday. No guarantees if we do with so many guys out. If we don't though we will lose and maybe big.
  17. He looked really good with his lateral movement and general explosiveness in the short film clips I saw today. Much improved from two weeks ago before Denver. Problem is Wylie is now back to step on the ankle too. Doesn't look like Fish will be back until after the bye week and they just aren't going to wait that long for the division lead to completely evaporate. But I'd agree there's probably more general risk lining him up behind Erving than actually playing on the knee or ankle.
  18. They botched his whole deal. No doubt about that. This isn't that. There's definite risk of him dislocating kneecap again, but there's not much they can do about that in a few months except have him wear something to give it more stability. My guess is they worked out Tenn game as return date but he's been working to try and change their mind. Total guess though. Watching him run today, he's probably more equipped to play Sunday than he was in Denver.
  19. Mahomes was running around today with some real explosion in his movements for the first time in about a month. I think he's chomping at the bit and wants to prove he is ready to play this week. Meanwhile from what I read he's still behind Matt Moore in total reps with the 1s....So this will get interesting.
  20. Its not like we weren't competitive that day either. We may have even had a brief 4th quarter lead. I can just see this Vikings game being a 31-17 type deal if we can't get a body or two back. I'd be estatic if I'm wrong and I do realize we are capable of getting this done if we have a great game plan and a playoff type effort. We NEED this not so much for the division. But for my sanity. LOL
  21. This is a team without any noticable flaws that nearly everyone has. And completely healthy. But Cousins is an enigma. He just won NFC offensive player of the month after struggling through a 2-2 September. The Chiefs have to make Cousins the catalyst rather than Dalvin Cook and hope they can rattle him.
  22. We lost to the Cowboys 28-17 in 2017. But otherwise its been a remarkable run of being competitive every week. Big time credit to Andy. I don't agree however that GB is better than Minnesota. They clearly are at QB. But basically nowhere else. Vikings defense is better across the board. And they have better WRs and a better RB. To me, this is the most complete team we will play all season including New England. And they got 3 extra days to rest and prepare with an already remarkably healthy team. All that said, I'm tired of losing at home and I hope the players play like they are too and steal this game despite the obstacles. I think that would really spark this team. I can also see getting run out of the building too if we dont come in fired up and struggle with Dalvin Cook who is playing as well as any RB in football. My expectations with all the guys out isn't very high. But I'm tired of excuses. No reason to ever lose 4 in a row at home. Bring the fire and prove its not acceptable to the players either. I just hope that game wasn't GB...
  23. The fact we have such a massive issue with this at LB and he still hasn't played a snap, certainly doesn't inspire confidence.
