  1. Agree in part. Defense has shown encouraging progress despite injuries. Spags has adjusted scheme and made us far less predictable despite hags at LB who can’t cover anyone. If Veach can get him a few more pieces they could make big jump next year. For now they are improved enough to beat some good teams if the O gets healthy. But D is losing players now faster than O getting them back. I think we are nearing a tipping point of the season where we win a big game, get some crucial guys back and really take off. Or we get thumped, lose all mojo and injuries just become too much to overcome it.
  2. They have about one more week to decide whether to activate Henne or not. DOD is playing a ton on special teams but nothing on defense. As much as our LBs are getting beat in coverage I’d think he may get some reps.
  3. Reality is also we’ve struggled against playoff teams no matter where we played them the last two years. Just so happens this year we open at home against 5 straight likely playoff teams while our first 5 on the road are all against likely non playoff teams. If our track record in such games continues we will win 10 games and the division but it doesn’t inspire in January. This team really needs to create that winners vibe that comes from winning a big game against a good team. Sunday is an opportunity under difficult circumstances to do that. Could serve to spark this entire season back on track if we do. Or a bad loss could really create some real pressure and possibly even doubt in Nashville.
  4. No doubt the AFC South is a ground and pound division. I think all four teams are in the top ten in rush/pass mix.
  5. I wouldn’t exactly call GB or Det a smash mouth offense. And we know Matt Nagy isn’t a smash mouth guy. Minnesota definitely has the RB to do it though.
  6. Dalvin Cook may be the best RB in the NFL right now. That defense has no real weaknesses. They are unbelievably healthy and are coming in off 3 extra days rest. This would be a good win under normal circumstancs. Cousins has played well of late but he's clearly the guy we need to create some heat on and see if he folds. He has before. Im not going to even pretend like we can't win this. We can. But it will take a special effort with the players we have out.
  7. I've been pretty tough on them in the past but everything I read said they were so quick to diagnose and fix Mahomes kneecap that it made the injury much more minor that it easily could have been.
  8. Its not apples to apples though as the Saints weren't fighting significant injuries elsewhere. Plus they had the most expensive backup QB in the NFL and a former 1st round pick whereas this is our 3rd QB picked up on a high school coaching staff less than 2 months ago. We can talk all we want about no excuses and next man up, but in the salary cap era teams aren't built to endure major injuries. We are likely playing with two backups DEs as well. All that said this team still has a ton of talent at the skill positions and could get Chris Jones back to help offset the loss of Clark and Okafor. I personally feel like we would be stealing one here if Matt Moore starts. But play hard like we did vs GB, come up with a good game plan and hopefully take a few more chances than normal and see what happens. Either way we will be fine if we get healthy, four game home losing streak or not.
  9. It's been almost two years since the Chiefs lost a game by more than 7 points. Is this going to be the first? This is the most complete team we will play this year and they are possibly completely healthy (which is unreal in itself). Can we contain Cook enough to put some pressure on Cousins and keep us in the game? If so they are the type of team to choke. But if we let them control tempo from the get go. They are more equipped to run us out of the building than GB was.
  10. Arrowhead Pride Retweeted Eric Smith @Eric_L_Smith · 1h Every #Vikings player practicing in some capacity today.
  11. Agree. I'll take being the 4 seed and healthy in January over the 1 seed with this QB and minus a good a defense that can actually capitalize on Arrowhead. Who will want to look up and a healthy Chiefs team coming into their stadium in January?
  12. I disagree. I think we are making strides in the running game and are more built for stopping the run than we have been in the last 3-4 years. But we can't cover RBs out of the backfield in space at all. That said Dalvin Cook will be the best RB we face all season. I'm sure he's licking his chops.
  13. Based on reality Fisher won't be back until after the bye. Wins....LA, Oak, Den Toss ups...Tenn, Chi, LA Losses...NE, Minn So 9-7 or 10-6...either wins the West in this scenario. 4 seed we'd probably open at home vs Buf or Indy and then go to NE if we win. Easiest game might end up being the AFC Title game if we got there.
  14. Andy said he tried to go last week but "wasn't ready. So they shut him down until he is." Agree after the bye week seems logical. Mahomes practiced and did more today. Jones practiced and will be worked back in depending on how it goes. Clark is the dreaded day to day. Okafor has a high ankle sprain and could be out until after the bye. LDT ankle was out. Breeland shoulder sprain out. Fuller was a go today. I don't like our chances vs Minnesota all these things factored in. And wouldn't start Mahomes likely missing 3 of 5 linemen.
  15. Fish was a limited participant Wed and Thur last week but then didn’t practice at all Friday and was ruled out. Maybe soreness? He may be a few weeks. I think Mahomes is chomping at the bit and ready, He actually ran the scout team last week so now it’s just a matter of when he gets thumbs up
  16. Hey if they want to give Bell to us for a day three pick I'd listen. But this is most likely the Jets organization trying to drum up interest in someone taking that salary off their hands. Don't just trade to make a trade with someone. Our ultimate success this season is most likely going to come from how healthy we can get. I'd love to get some help, but don't panic into it!
  17. There’s injuries at the wrong positions that can derail any team. And against playoff level teams we’ve seen that happen to us. Get those crucial guys back and I’d play any of those again and feel pretty good.
  18. Good question. He seemed to be emerging before he got hurt last year. I’d call him the most disappointing player on the roster to date.
  19. Daron Lee has been absolutely miserable in coverage. I’m not sure how he’s still on the team actually. I’m guessing DOD hasn’t looked very good in practice because he rarely gets to play. At this point give him a shot on obvious passing downs.
  20. SOS definitely matters. We are about to play our fifth straight home game against a team in the playoffs. And we’ve struggled. 4-0 on the road against four non playoff teams.
  21. I don’t disagree at all. 3rd and Goal at the 8 and he ran the ball too. Just goes to show even a good offensive coach can stink up the joint if he’s lost confidence in his QB. Even still this seems to be Chargers 101 to stink it up early then make a run. That loss would’ve buried them for good.
  22. Should be noted this week will complete a run of 5 straight teams currently in the playoffs we’ve played at home. Our last 7 games include only 1 team over .500. In short everything we wanted at the beginning of the season is still right there for the taking except the 1 seed. So lets not panic into rushing anyone back. If they are ready, play them. 50-50 give them another week.
  23. On pace for 750 yards and 8 TDs. The most by a Chiefs WR not named Tyreek since Jeremy Maclin in 2015. Ironic perhaps because I’ve seen him compared to Maclin. Not bad for a kid who won’t turn 22 until next March.
  24. You’ll have to pardon most of us who actually think drafting the clearly superior player is the way to go. Laughable thing is that we’d actually likely have a worse defense right now with your inferior player.
