  1. So now let me get this straight. Your suggestion to fix coverage issues is that we should have taken the linebacker with the worst coverage grade of any LB in football instead of Hardman? Your taking option 2? 😂 Option 1 grade. 69.1 Option 2 grade 42.1
  2. Very realistically if we split with the Chargers and beat the Raiders again, this division can probably be won with 9 wins.
  3. Yep. The rules become more slanted toward the offense all the time and we need a coach who can push those boundaries and stay ahead of the game.
  4. Not for me. Defensive coaches like Fangio might come in a try to reign the offense in no matter who the DC. Give me an innovative offensive guy like Andy every time.
  5. 7th in sacks, 7th in points allowed, 4th in INTs...This will be the best team we face at home this year. So do we get a surge of starters back or suck it up one more week and bring in the reinforcements against Tennessee?
  6. I heard a report during pregame yesterday morning that said Patrick ran the scout team in practice and ran our defense ragged. He's close. I'd say 95 percent for Tennessee. 50-50 this week.
  7. On point...Hardman and Thornhill are both really flashing. PFF KC Chiefs @PFF_Chiefs · 13m #Chiefs S Juan Thornhill has put up eye-popping numbers in coverage this season • 0.09 Yards per Coverage Snap (#1, all players w/ 300+ coverage snaps) • Has not allowed 10+ yards in any game
  8. Despite our huge issues with coverage at LB it would appear a guy like Janoris Jenkins might be the best fit for some short term help at a mid round pick price. Not sure if we are interested or not though in Jenkins or Ogletree.
  9. Not sure about next week but it seems likely now we should have both Fisher and Mahomes back by the Tennessee game.
  10. Personally I really like where we are at both for this season and beyond. Very important to our future is Brett Veach and his ability to draft. And after a rough start everyone should be feeling a lot better about Veach with this latest class. Also while it’s clear this defense has warts that won’t likely be solved this year, we are also seeing some tangible evidence this coaching staff can develop young talent. Again big for our future. We are also seeing a scheme which isn’t nearly as predictable as we’ve had in recent years. 14 sacks the last two weeks without Chris Jones! Some of Andy’s issues are just things we have to live with as his good FAR outweighs his bad. i think 9 wins if it includes a win over LA and Oak takes this division for the fourth straight time. Question is can we get some luck with injuries that we certainly didn’t get the first half of this season. If we do this team can beat anyone, anywhere and hoist the Lombardi on South Beach in February. Either way I still feel great about our future.
  11. Injuries are just the luck of the draw, but if we have all these guys in January we can beat anyone anywhere.
  12. So to be clear you would prefer we give up a rookie who’s actually making plays in favor of some random fictional guy who isn’t. And somehow this would make us better. I guess I need more explanation here because this sounds like an incredibly stupid idea to me. .
  13. Love how much Ward has improved this year. Good to finally have a defensive staff that can actually develop talent. That said we were destroyed again underneath as GB targeted our LBs in coverage. Not sure who could help but finding that answer seems crucial.
  14. Ian Rapoport ✔@RapSheet From @NFLGameDay: #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes should be back against the #Titans in Week 10, and the reason he was so fortunate (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001069528/article/chiefs-qb-patrick-mahomes-likely-to-return-against-titans …) revolv
  15. This explains a lot. He’s been playing with this since training camp. Hopefully this is Andy just giving all the nagging injury players another week to heal up. Harrison Retweeted Ian Rapoport @RapSheet · 1h #Chiefs pass-rusher Frank Clark, out tonight with a neck injury, is considered week-to-week, source said. That means he could be out more than this week, though KC is hopeful it’s not long-term. Either way, he’s been battling this and somehow has been playing.
  16. Your point is clearly valid that these specific decisions don’t involve him. But bigger picture Goodell is behind everything. https://www.google.com/amp/s/boston.cbslocal.com/2016/10/20/roger-goodell-taunting-penalties-are-significant-issue-and-players-need-to-be-role-models/amp/
  17. Just saw the Packers rank dead last in the league in kick coverage. I’ll bet Dave Toub capitalizes! Gonna need stuff like this to overcome a QB3 vs HOFer in his prime facing defense missing its best players.
  18. Once Mecole develops the full route tree he has a real chance to be special in this offense. He will end up being the best WR in this draft.
  19. He was awful in the Texans game though. But overall he and Neiman have been okay. Problem is Neiman is putrid vs the run. Ragland is a pure thumper and can’t cover. Hitchens is below average in coverage. We just don’t have any complete LBs. And I’m sure opponents play call knowing that. Flacco sucks so bad it didn’t matter.
  20. Agree. The quality of QBs we’ve faced has made this group look better than it is in my opinion. And the fact our LBs can’t cover anyone. Rodgers will attack them so let’s see how well they hold up.
  21. Without being specific I think this game vs Aaron Rodgers without our top two pass rushers is going to show us either how much we need a corner or if a cover LB shouldn’t be the priority.
  22. Watkins, Tyreek, Kelce and Hardman all playing gives us the best skill position group in the league. Somebody will always be open. Can Moore find that guy? Can the oline keep him upright?
  23. We are treating this almost like a week 17 game where the result doesn’t matter. I’m wondering if it’s possible all these guys start against the Vikings
  24. One thing that’s concerning here is reality we have faced mostly bottom tier passing QBs. The team with the best passer we’ve faced tore us up. Same with Watson. Aaron Rodgers will be one big time reality check either way.
