  1. With Fisher out it exposes an otherwise weak oline. IE: We haven’t had the Ferrari offense since week 1. It would help a ton if we could actually have Watkins and Hill on the field at the same time.
  2. Agree. At the very least we got to see where Spags is trying to get this defense. Lots of pressure on the QB and gang tackling in the running game. I’m afraid however Rodgers will really expose our linebackers in particular in coverage.
  3. Henne is eligible to come back next week but sounds a few weeks away. Lets face it, its going to be hard enough to beat high quality playoff opponents the next two weeks with QB3, if it gets beyond that, forget it. That said its not unlikely that we could have Mahomes and Henne both available by Tennessee. And as such right now no reason to make any big move. In the end Shurmer probably gets released and put back on the PS.
  4. Two days after the displacement he wasn't in the ice and rest mode anymore. He was in full fledged all day rehab. They aren't going to throw him out until he's ready. But I think he's going to be ready pretty quickly.
  5. If the playoffs started Sunday, Mahomes may be the starter. I think the injury just isn't very serious by my own experience and now by what coaches and trainers are saying. But I still think Tennessee.
  6. Personally I'd rather be the 4th seed and go to NE in the divisional round. May end up with the AFC Title game back here. Obviously being the 2 seed is still the realistic goal if we can win 1 of the next 2 and then get the MVP back.
  7. Defense could actually play well or at least continue to show improvement and still give up 24 plus points. I'm guessing that where we need this game in the 20s. Our next two opponents are very good teams and I think one of them is going to get the book thrown at them in an attempt to steal one and the other will probably be the worst home loss of the Reid era. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but a 3rd string QB off the streets against Super Bowl contenders is a very tough task. I think Mahomes returns for Tennessee.
  8. Joshua Brisco @jbbrisco · 16m Andy Reid says "it'd be a stretch" for Patrick Mahomes to be able to play against the Packers, but won't rule him out yet Again I saw a 16 year old girl sustain this injury on a Tuesday in volleyball practice last month and get doctors clearance to play 4 days later.
  9. Agree. I mean I asked the question of whether we should sit him last week with the lingering ankle issues and the woeful offensive line. The correct answer despite the new injury was if he's cleared to play, play him. But likewise we've had some issues in the past with players being misdiagnosed and played before they were ready. With Mahomes I'm making sure that doesn't happen. But if you get several different parties say he's good to go. Get him out there. I don't care if its 2 weeks or 10 weeks. Maybe the lesson learned here for Veach is we can't have a bottom feeder line out there. The guard play is so marginal that an injury to either tackle sent the entire group spiraling downward.
  10. If you look at the AFC West schedules the next 3 weeks there not be more than 2 wins about the entire bunch. And 1 of those is because the Chargers and Broncos play each other. Maybe nothing more important than getting healthy the next month. One bi product of losing our MVP is that hopefully he won't have to play behind a line that doesn't have Fisher any more this season. What we really do need now however is Watkins. A lot easier to make single reads if you have both WRs.
  11. I think Spags lit a fire under defense and smelled blood in the water with a bad Broncos oline and a QB flat playing scared in my opinion. Loved benching Lee. I’d give him one more shot and then flat release him if he doesn’t respond. This is such a different animal though with Rodgers. And the defense doesn’t deserve for us to believe in them. But they did at least flash something tangible for what Spags hopes to become.
  12. This will be only the third time the Chiefs have been underdogs at Arrowhead since 2013. Vegas doesn’t like our chances. I don’t either. But that’s why you play the game!
  13. Second opinion went well. Confirmed a likely 3-6 week absence. I think it’ll be on the shorter side. https://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/article236463863.html
  14. I don’t have great trust in our medical staff although it would appear their quick action to get kneecap back into place on the field was a big part of why this isn’t a long term thing. Still I’d have them and another source clear him. When they do, whenever that is. Play him. I think that could be at Tennessee.
  15. Heck Andy’s been great at winning with backup QBs his entire career in this type of spot. But normally that’s been with highly paid veteran backups or early draft pick types. I’d feel pretty confident Henne could get us through had been healthy all year. Moore is really gonna be a challenge. Should show people the huge value of a quality backup on a playoff contender.
  16. Coaching was phenomenal in Denver as Andy finally started realizing we couldn’t run full throttle offense with gimpy MVP and awful LT. He also had to help defense. We are going to need some type of similar ball control offense to have any realistic chance against Rodgers who was flat brilliant yesterday. Problem is putting QB3 acquired a week before the season started while coaching high school football vs MVP level guy in his prime almost never works out. Chiefs went from 5 point favorites to 3 point dogs.
  17. Of course didn’t you think Denver was a sure loss too? I definitely thought they’d run all over us and we’d lose too honestly. Our roster is pretty damn good and it gives us a shot the next two weeks. But both should be favored.
  18. Fits with the timeline I heard where he is a few weeks from being ready to go. If Moore really struggles against GB and Minn, it’s possible they could turn to Henne who’s been in the system a lot longer. But I’m guessing plan is for Henne to be the backup.
  19. The Pats resigned Danny Shelton who plays the same role so i get it from their end. Just not sure why nobody else signed him. Looks like a terrific fit for us.
  20. Had a very impressive PFF grade with the Jets last year. Big body that can hold up two linemen and really clog the middle if he’s healthy. Not sure why he got cut from NE and nobody picked him up with those numbers? 2018 with NYJ • 358 snaps • 87.1 Overall • 87.0 Run Defense • 74.5 Pass Rush • 4 games of 85+
  21. Again with Mahomes and Henne both likely coming back there’s just no need to do anything. I think Andy could turn Mariota into Alex Smith pretty easily.
  22. Moore isn’t from this system is he? I think he would have considered a late rounder for Mariota if Mahomes was out for the season and Henne not able to come back. It’s slim Pickens out there and not enough Andy system guys out there to be picky.
  23. Of course they aren’t down to QB3 who got picked up right before the season started either. I would’ve been pretty confident we would have been fine with Henne. Just gotta hope Moore is a fast learner.
