  1. Keep in mind Moore has only been in this system for 2 months and hadn’t thrown a competitive pass since 2017. But you give Andy 10 days to work a game plan around his skill set and pair back playbook, these playmakers we have can make him effective. If not, Henne is close to being back too.
  2. Wouldn’t have been the coolest thing ever had LDT put the kneecap back in place himself!
  3. Rough stretch anyway even with Mahomes. Beating Rodgers with Matt Moore just doesn’t seem likely. Vikes may be the most well rounded team on our schedule but perhaps Cousins gives us an opp to win. Tenn is a solid team but that’s winable with their QB issues. Chargers? Not even sure who they are right now. id bet a lot more on 0-4 than 4-0 going with the mantra the team with the better QB wins most of the time. 1-3 or 2-2 seems most likely. Then again it’s not crazy at all to think Mahomes could be back by the Tenn game if nothing changes.
  4. Keenum did have a very good season with the Vikes and Lock does have potential.
  5. Right now our DVOA special teams ranking is 19th. We haven't been outside the top ten since Toub got here and have been top 4 the last four years. So something is going on. We did come close to breaking one yesterday. History would suggest we will see much improved play from this group going forward. But I'd love to know why Toub thinks they aren't performing at the level he normally expects. I guess lack of motivation on his part is possible, but I doubt it.
  6. My bad. His resume at evaluating QBs is bad enough without tagging him with Tebow too. But he acquired or drafted every other QB I mentioned including Paxton Lynch who has been one of the worst 1st round QB picks ever! Keenum...YPA 29th, Passer rating 29th, Total QBR 29th, TD% 31st. I mean you are to the point you are defending clearly below average players. It's been great for the Chiefs so I hope he keeps his job forever.
  7. Keenum, Flacco, Siemian, and Osweiler are great examples of awful pickups by Elway. Three finished their tenures in Denver in the bottom ten of the league in passer rating, TD%, YPA and Flacco is well on his way to being the 4th in a row. Drafting Tim Tebow in the first round. Are you freaking kidding me? And then a complete disaster with Paxton Lynch. There probably has not been a worse job of evaluating QB done by any GM in the league over his tenure. And from a Stanford grad and HOF QB that is just incredible to me. I mean its like he's now taken the old Chiefs QB plan of trading for other teams castoffs, but even there he can't do it right.
  8. I was this close to her at the All Star game a few years back. And she did not disappoint in person!
  9. It's less about him being unable to find another true franchise QB because a lot of teams struggle with that. It's more about the reality he's been absolutely miserable at finding even solid QBs. Just miss after miss and now he's doing things like trading draft picks for Flacco which is just a mind boggling stupid.
  10. Frank Schwab @YahooSchwab · 15h Harris: "That was a great play by Andy Reid. I've never had someone run a shallow-wheel on me. That was just a great play by him
  11. Treating players like high schoolers and yelling and screaming at them won't work with a lot of these millionaire players. The most motivating things you can often do is benching or cutting someone and making an example out of them. Lee missed easy tackles in that Texans game. Good for Spags for responding appropriately. I'd actually consider releasing him.
  12. Andy with extra time to prepare will give us a shot. But I'd imagine the Packers will be favored.
  13. I only watched about half the game. But it looked like we swarmed the football and finished plays we haven't been all season. Spags blitz packages can be entertaining.
  14. Agree he will find whatever strength Matt Moore might have and work the offense around it. Tough though that Moore has only been in this system now for two months.
  15. I thought Henne had to be getting close. We are still going to have to sign some QB though.
  16. What they tell her is that surgery won't help anything. The ligaments are stretched not torn. As such rehabbing it to strengthen joints around the knee are what she's supposed to do. According to her Dad she half asses her rehab though and maybe that's why it keeps happening. But I'm guessing this may be something he will now have to deal with from time to time. But it does sound awfully similar.
  17. The Chiefs have the third cheapest defense in the NFL by the way. Most of the top ten is spending 30 plus million more on that side of the ball.
  18. Not sure if it’s apples to apples here but a girl on my daughters high school volleyball team has a recurring problem with a dislocated kneecap. It’s awful when you look at it and clearly extremely painful for her. She has however never needed surgery and usually can play again anywhere from a few days to a month later. And that’s with a professional trainer giving her advice. Maybe?? All about the MRI and those ligaments
  19. I was literally telling my buddy we need a QB sneak there right before we did it. The slower developing runs weren’t working.
  20. Totally absurd. I’ve never ever seen a QB hurt on a QB sneak. Tom Brady is 41 years old and he’s still one of their top goal line options. It was a good play call.
  21. This is a big concern. You can't tweak your ankle week after week after week and expect there not to be some real damage there. If Andy Reid doesn't shorten the drops and the patterns to help him out, we are going to watch this season go south very quickly. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/patrick-mahomes-recurring-ankle-injury-is-reportedly-a-bigger-deal-than-previously-thought/
  22. Great points. Dorsey is proving again in Cleveland he’s overmatched by the big picture. I think Veach has a better grasp of the big picture but hasn’t proven himself nearly as adept at scouting. But he deserves more time without any doubt! Just crazy to suggest otherwise. Happy Birthday brother!
  23. Damn you guys are young but Happy Birthday to you both! Good points about inheriting vs building but keep in mind after 5 drafts this team should be loaded with Dorsey picks. Also not only did Veach inherit a declining defense but also a CAP mess that’s caused him to subtract as much as he’s added. Just to early to effectively evaluate Veach because he’s only had 1 full draft to work with and drafted late in both. The 2019 draft success or failure will be huge for him. As will Honey Badger and Frank Clark’s contribution through 2021. At that point you extend him with a Super Bowl ring or fire him.
  24. I give Dorsey credit for Kelce, Tyreek (even though he was untouchable by half the teams in the league), a rare good FA contract with Schwartz, Jones and Fish even though T Williams is better. He gets some credit for Mahomes because he initiated trade. That was Veachs guy though and probably how he got the job. But consider Dorsey inherited tons of CAP space and a draft where he had the first pick. It’s his drafts right now that should be the cornerstone of this roster. And yet we have 1 starter left from FIVE drafts on defense. He left Veach not only a defense with horribly declining talent but also a CAP disaster he’s had to fix on the fly. Not saying Veach isn’t responsible for what looks like a very bad draft in 2018. But he inherited no top 50 picks! And his first pick that year is hurt. This draft looks MUCH better but reality is we won’t likely see major impact and know until year 2 and beyond. Book is still very much out and time is needed to evaluate him properly there. In FA Hitchens looks like a terrible signing. All on Veach and strike one if he doesn’t turn it around fast. Watkins was signed out of necessity with Tyreeks complicated. situation. I think Clark and HB will be cornerstones for new defense that simply needs more talent. But who was our leading WR and RB in the playoffs last year? My point is I’ve got questions about Veach like anyone else. He’s made some clear mistakes but also shown he may be growing into the role. We will see. But there’s no doubt Dorsey put him behind the 8 ball in many ways. And as we’ve seen by Cleveland’s continued dis function despite piles of money spent and tons of early draft picks. It’s Andy Reid that’s the real catalyst here. He just needs a competent scout and money guy that can work with him. Ballard looks like the clear best of the bunch by the way.
