  1. You would have to get to the middle of round 3 before anyone took an offensive lineman after that. In between SEVEN WRs were drafted after Veach started the run. People have to understand that rookies often do not produce much in this league. So drafting for immediate need is a dicey proposition. Plus we had a clear need after this season to fill an important role. AND we had just lost our #3 already. Hardman is 21, played in a run heavy offense and was on the cusp of being the focal point of being Georgia’s go to offensive weapon. A likely first round pick in 2020 IMO. I personally really like what Veach did in round 2 in 2019. I do not like what he did in a similar spot in 2018.
  2. This is 8:30 AM laugh out loud funny. Coffee and the OT comedy show. Great way to start a day. Well done!
  3. So you would have preferred to take an OG or OC with that pick that nobody else in the NFL valued as any better than a 3rd rounder? We took a sought after player that started a run of 5 WRs. I think this is how you draft and if Veach sticks with that formula instead of reaching for out of position players we will be okay. Exact same with Thornhill.
  4. I don’t think they are trying to help any team but rather they hate having PIs challenged this year and are coming up with unique was to disrupt that process. Which in fact hurts the integrity of the game
  5. Mahomes said he thought he had a free play so he took a shot. I’ve never seen this type of thing happen before. Completely laughable to overturn that.
  6. In the 8 remaining picks in the 2nd round after we took Hardman. FOUR were WRs. Three were safeties of which one was Thornhill and the other a DT who’s had 1 career tackle and has been inactive most of the season.
  7. Zone concepts have been tough for him but he deserves a learning curve there for sure. Love his attitude.
  8. Honey Badger was a good signing. Thornhill looks like an impact player. Safety situation very improved.
  9. Eagles are releasing Zach Brown who is one of the best tacklers and run stuffing LBs in the NFL. https://theeagleswire.usatoday.com/2019/10/12/eagles-zach-brown-best-nfl-run-stop-rate/
  10. It's actually looking possible we could have both of our starting WRs available for the first time since the first quarter of week 1. Fisher still on the shelf period. I'm gonna guess Tennessee for his return.
  11. Its not an Andy Reid thing to play your QB when he is hurting. All coaches would do it. I only ask the question because sometimes you should ask the question. I mean back in the good ol days Bear Bryant thought it was actually a good idea to deny his players water because it helped build toughness and character. Laughably ignorant. By the way in the injury report today it said Patrick would have been a full participant had they actually practiced. So this was always a hypothetical.
  12. Same people bitching that he's not here anymore are the ones who would have been moaning and groaning about paying such an injury plagued player so much money. I've got no problems there. Houston is the guy I'm now thinking we could have easily kept for one more year.
  13. Including special teams Nieman played 105 snaps yesterday. That's both insane from a physical standpoint but also because it tells you just how bleek our LBing group is. Neiman is AWFUL vs the run. Every single player was either a role player or an underachiever at his prior stop or wasn't even worth drafting to begin with. Underachieving so far but the Dline is well thought out in my opinion and has real potential even this year to emerge. I see no reason at all to believe in our LBs as the current roster stands. Any trade deadline deal better be looking squarely here. Our corners aren't much better but the new penalty machine Breeland. But its the LBs being targeted more than the corners.
  14. Looking at the numbers the Texans targetted our LBs (epsecially Lee and Wilson) all day. They are a HUGE problem and I don't see solution anywhere on our roster. Has there been any LBs in the trade deadline rumors? Or a guy that plays for Mia, NYJ, Cincy or Wash?
  15. Problem is we have a line of almost all finesse type players. Erving is plain awful in the run game period.
  16. Fans are irrational and far overly emotional about wins and losses. Two weeks ago we were headed for the Super Bowl and now we need to fire the HC, GM and most of the assistants. You do not want your decision makers to act like fans.
  17. Last ditch effort to slow run game may be to try and trade for an elite corner like Peterson or Ramsey with plan to leave them with no safety help and dedicate that safety to stopping run. I’d be fine with a less high profile and expensive trade for a LB. Ours are all miserable.
  18. Agree. Two games in a row our RBs have 10 carries or less. Heck we only threw 4 passes to RBs yesterday. That’s normally his bread and butter and is especially helpful to struggling oline. I’m just wondering if film is showing oline also struggling get into space to set those up? Because it makes no sense why we aren’t doing more of it.
  19. I think the oline issues have Andy rattled. This is normally a big strength of his working around deficiency’s. I agree right now the coaching isn’t helping a bad situation.
  20. Numbers don’t lie. His inability to get outside the pocket takes away a huge part of his game and lets opponents exploit our oline even more. Even in the pocket you see his numbers drop dramatically every time the injury is aggravated. Accuracy impacted from throwing off one leg and way more floaters than he used to throw. The oline without Fish has been a disaster which is without a doubt our biggest issue on offense right now. it’s definitely led to this injury being aggravated every week. If they were playing well I wouldn’t consider sitting him.
  21. I’m sure this will be Andy’s thought as well. But in the big picture is the team best served by this mentality especially with an oline that can’t protect him combined with him being unable to protect himself? His play is clearly deteriorating with the injury and the likelyhood of a more serious injury is obviously higher in these circumstances.
  22. Agree he’d never sit. This would have to be a coaching decision. I also understand Andy probably wouldn’t consider it either. I just think he should. Fisher may be able to start practicing in a few weeks. Im just in favor of trying to get the O healthy and I’m willing to sacrifice short term to do it.
  23. Every week is just another aggravation of the injury and now on a short week it’s going to be even tougher to recover. At some point protecting our biggest asset has to be a consideration.
  24. Second straight game we just got physically beat up in the second half. Score wasn’t indicative of how much better the Texans were.
  25. Pretty spot on. They wanted Clark over Ford. But wanted Houston to take a pay cut whereas he wanted more guaranteed money to restructure and that Dorsey contract simply bit us. In retrospect though at 23 million under the CAP we could have had him and still had 9 million in CAP money with even less dead money after this season. That looks like is should have been the play.
