  1. So far you can’t really argue the fact many of the faces have changed but we are left with basically the same defense Dorsey and Sutton gave us. if we can’t get this turned around into at least something mediocre this year on D, I’m in favor of tagging and trading Jones and accumulating as many early draft picks as possible. I’d let our results on the field dictate that. At some point this becomes more about the players than the coaching IMO.
  2. You must have started sucking down the Tropical Fruit flavored Nati Light Seltzers early tonight. It’s a freaking figure I’d speech for Gods sake. God could care less about football. Except in Dallas where the old stadium was absolutely created so he could watch.
  3. Yep. Puts players at more injury risk and often leaves fans watching sloppier play. I’m going to a concert Thursday and won’t see almost any of it. Praying for ugly win.
  4. Reality is weve played only one talented QB and no good offenses yet too. We shot ourselves in the foot and gave away the Colts game. But we probably stole one in Detroit. Right now we are in survival mode to get past these next two games and hopefully get some players back. And reality is we haven’t seen our real offense since the first half of the first game. I’m hoping around GB or Minn that might become a reality again.
  5. Disagree about invest at DT. Jones has one side locked down. And in Veachs two offseasons he’s added Soeaks, Nnadi and Saunders in round 2,3 and 4 of the draft. Soeaks is ideal for being inside on pass rushing downs. Nnadi is a pure run stuffer. And he added Xavier Williams in free agency. And Tanoh can also play inside. There 3 players there under 25 years old at a position that often takes several years to develop. We’ve seen clear flashes of good play and improvement from Nnadi. Just not consistency yet. Soeaks didn’t get a chance in his natural position because of injury. And Saunders is being forced to play before he’s ready. I really like his potential too down the road. Only time will tell if the heavy investment on the Dline will work. But they’ve invested heavily there while throwing only band aids so far at corner and OLB. And as you said finding a true stud to man the middle of that defense where Hitchens has failed so far seems critical. But even Hitchens proved very productive in Dallas when paired with a high level versatile player. So to me continued development of young Dline by Daly has real potential. As does our safety duo as Thornhill learns the ropes. If we could add a high level corner and linebacker this defense could really take off in year two for Spags. And year two is where he has twice taken bottom feeders and made them top ten. in 2019 we are just reasonably looking for enough improvement to maneuver thru January. That won’t happen if our elite offense is handicapped like right now though. It’s gotta be 80-20 offense. Last year it was 90-10.
  6. Good example is at linebacker where we continue to have one dimensional players. Daron Lee came in with a very encouraging high level grade vs the pass last year. And yet he's been SO bad that they have benched him in passing downs for Ben Neimann. But go watch the Colts tape and its clear teams find Neiman on the field and run right at him he is so bad against the run. So what do you do? Part of this is the reality Spags and his crew are trying to evaluate on the fly. The positves are the Frank Clark is setting an edge that Dee Ford did not. Honey Badger is making plays vs both the run and pass that none of our safeties could last year. And Chris Jones has been a beast all year. Beyond that its been wild inconsistency from about everyone. A puzzle that still clearly puzzling to the coaches. Take Chris Jones out of the equation on Sunday and ouch. This is where we need a game plan that Sutton could NEVER deliver. Can Spags?
  7. I guess we can take this even further too. If he can’t go Sunday, he won’t be able to go Thursday either.
  8. Problem with being a decoy is that teams can still lay him out and get physical with that shoulder/collar bone. I think it comes down to the medical staff. If the MRI looks good as it apparently does, he's probably going to play. I'd wait til GB though personally but maybe that extra two weeks doesn't matter.
  9. Jones is 25. They have all along planned to pay him. There just weren't going to give him the huge contract until his contract was up. Smart. I'd love Atkins, but it makes no sense.
  10. Lets face it. We don't really know who we are right now. MVP is on one leg, backup LT is awful, both WRs MAY be out, LG is a street free agent, rookie late 3rd round pick now manning important DT role and weve got no idea what to expect by corners against good WRs. Making a prediction as such is brutally hard.
  11. Ordinarily I'd feel great about going toe to toe in a scorefest with the Texans. I think in this one we need the UNDER to hit for us to win.
  12. Teams have piled up tons of rushing yards using this strategy every week. But have only gotten one win from this strategy because ordinarily our offense is too potent for a running based offense to keep up with. Right now with major injury issues at LT and WR thats not the case. If I was them I'd run a lot and then use play action to get their elite WR group one on one with our questionable corners. It would be a winning formula. Their coach is a moron though who likes to coach by ego. So he may not be smart. We will see.
  13. Houston is healthy and loaded with stars. They just buried the Sutton coaches Falcons with 50 plus points last week. It’s stunning to me we are still 4 pt favorites. I can easily see a 31-17 type loss EXCEPT throw in the OBrien is a shitty coach factor and possible return of Tyreek and it could be interesting if the MVP can survive 60 minutes of JJ Watt brutalizing Erving. Great WRs vs our questionable corners loom large especially as we have to put a safety in the box to help banged up Dline. I really have no logical reason to feel good about this game. Chiefs 24, Texans 23
  14. DAT was and is fast, DMC wasn’t. Neither is Thompson. Thompson is however a pure RB unlike the other two. Despite being only 5’8 he can squat over 500 pounds which led him to having the 2nd most yards after contact in college football last year. Really good balance is obvious. Limited overall experience though so give him some time. All that said I don’t think we lack talent at RB. This is all about the oline to me. Without Fisher we have guys from the center to LT who can’t run block. Obviously Andys loves his RBs to be able to block and catch. It does seem like they did neither the past few weeks. Getting back to that with both starting WRs out seems crucial on Sunday to give us a chance.
  15. Reality is even with Watkins, missing Tyreek and Fish has REALLY impacted the offense. We were held scoreless for three quarters in Oakland. Then beat what turns out to be a pretty bad Ravens defense. Then we needed a defensive miracle play and heroics by the MVP to beat Detroit. And finally it came crashing down last week. We desperately need those two guys back!! Somehow we opened as 8 point favorites anyway this week but the Vegas wise guys quickly bet that down to 4. We need an inspired week, more discipline and really a unique game plan with two near rookie WRs. This is all about hang on mode right now to me. Find a way to steal games while missing pieces of the puzzle that really makes this team click.
  16. Andy's been pretty cryptic about it I'm assuming giving the Texans something more to think about. Bottom line is he said me "could play, we will just have to wait and see." I really think this is 100 percent what the training staff says. My preference. Bring him back vs GB.
  17. Sammy came up big in the postseason when we needed him and everyone thought he would be a non factor. Looks how he terrorized the Jags secondary when they played him straight man with a #2 corner in the opener. Heck he physically just tossed a very physical Ramsey aside in the red zone for a TD too. We are MUCH better with him. Its just we aren't with him enough.
  18. Calling him soft isn't necessarily accurate. We just don't know. Some peoples body's just aren't able to hold up at the weight they have to play at in the NFL. He's a very physical player too.
  19. As bad as we got beat up in the trenches, it was actually our unforced errors that probably cost us the game. That said these young WRs had it easy early with a lot of simple routes and paired up vs the 3-4 corners. It’s asking a lot for young WRs to handle Andy’s offense. Sunday priority one to me is to protect the MVP. 2 is to play with more discipline. And 3 is to play with more physicality. Do those things and we can take away something from this game win or lose.
  20. here’s from the last two games. There’s stories like this every week. Not hard to find. Plus even better film breakdown from Seth Keysor of the Athletic. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/10/9/20903434/chiefs-defensive-trends-and-tabulation-for-week- https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2019/10/2/20893823/chiefs-defensive-trends-and-tabulation-for-week-4
  21. This is like having a house you can sell for 200k in a neighborhood where nothing is worth more than 200k, but you decide to put 30k into the house and try to sell it for 235k. Ain’t happening. We had a historic offense with Fisher, trying to upgrade and pay draft and money capital isn’t giving us any more ROI. The only reason you make move for Williams is if Fish can’t come back in a reasonable amount of time. IE Your House was badly damaged in a storm and you now need the repairs Thank me later for the analogy. 😂
  22. This was the week the broke the camels back for me. Watching a backup level starter at LG is one thing, but seeing guys who don't belong in the league behind him is quite another. But again the Fisher situation looms very large there. Where are they with him? I heard a doctor suggest he could be back by GB or Minnesota. Is that realistic? If so I suppose we keep trying to find an average guy to pair with him (we can pray thats Wiz) and hope LDT can get some form back. We cannot let this offense completely derail because of an oline we can fix. Just as importantly lets see how our corners hold up this week against a legit passing attack. If we can get a legit outside corner with club control through the next few seasons, I'm still all in. No reason to panic about short term injuries. So far we haven't lost anyone long term that matters that much again depending on the realistic timeline of Fishers return.
  23. They’ve been trying hard to resign him. I’m reading a record guard contract is likely but no dice for the Skins yet. Probably too expensive but I hope Veach has reached out.
  24. Yep. We got beat up. But probably only lost through it all because of incredibly sloppy undisciplined play.
