  1. 18th overall is about exactly the value we traded for Clark. That's about the max we could hope to get.
  2. Daly did an incredible job coaching up the role type players on that Dline. Speaks has talent and I think if he takes his offseason conditioning seriously can make a Tanoh type jump. We see a ton of second year players often progress quite a bit in year two. Unfortunately this is another group of players that really have an uphill battle without any offseason.
  3. LJ was an absolute beast for two years and Herm Edwards simply rode his back and wore him out to get that 2006 team to the playoffs. He certainly produced up to his draft status as the third leading rusher in KC history. But like most RBs who carry the ball 750 times in a 2 year period, he hit a wall fast. Much like WR, you had better references at RB like Ethan Horton, Paul Palmer, Greg Hill or Harvey Williams. But again none were drafted by an organization as good as we are now.
  4. There are as many as 18 WRs who are getting top 100 grades which is pretty remarkable. Trading back and getting three day two picks seems absolutely ideal for our situation and the reality this draft is deep at CB too. How much Veach values the cover LBs Queen and Murray probably plays a role there.
  5. Bowe and LJ are both third on the Chiefs All Time rushing and receiving list by the way. Both within 100 yards of number two all time. Anthony Hancock and Sylvester Morris however would like their due attention. Reality is when your the World Champs drafting 32nd all bets are off. Just take the BPA period or trade back. No question corner would be the priority though.
  6. This is where you out scout your opponents like we did with Mahomes. PM15 was by far our top ranked QB but obviously few other teams agreed with that. By contrast the Chiefs organization was so badly outclassed in the Blackledge era you would almost expect them simply go with popular choice and make a Mitch Trubisky type error.
  7. Defense was night and day better. Attitude and skill Clark and Mathieu brought along with far superior scheme from Spags probably did more to improve this team than anything else.
  8. What’s also very noticeable is how much Patrick Mahomes has progressed since then.
  9. Fortunately that we won’t be necessary with readily available testing that yields fast results. As it stands today it’s impossible to play any sport without quarantining the entire team all the time. But this is something you can almost expect to see over the next 6 months.
  10. It’s true even fast tracking vaccine we are looking at 18 months. As such I’d say the 2021 season offers real hope for a normal season with fans. Fortunately well before that there are things that can be done to get teams playing again and a semblance of normal life back with social distancing continuing to be the norm for quite some time. It’s very far fetched to believe it possible this year. But i do think playing to mostly empty stadiums could be possible.
  11. Yes. TV money is massive and they’d never walk away from that. It’s about the only reason we may have football. Can you imagine it being okay to have 75,000 in the close quarters of a stadium anytime this year?
  12. At the end of a game trailing by 3 or less it would be a higher percentage play than a Hail Mary.
  13. Watching Japan try and start their baseball season only to have 3 players test positive for the virus forcing the league back into suspension makes me believe this scenario might become more than theoretical. Without enough tests that yield almost instant results it’s Impossible to get any sports league going.
  14. For what it’s worth he outplayed D Harris last year.
  15. You never know when a subtle signing like this can ultimately become a Damien Williams like lifeline.
  16. That’s a crazy contract. Incentives count immediately against the CAP if they are likely to be hit. But all of his fly slightly above that level.
  17. With the cut he took now we get the player and production for another year and a likely 3rd/4th round comp pick in 2022.
  18. Lol. He keeps wanting to trade our Left tackle who we went 9-0 with last year and has a manageable contract. Now he wants to reinvent the roster with a ton of new faces in a year with no offseason program. I’ll keep it simple. Keep the championship team in tact as much as possible this year and supplement with BPA on draft day and a few tactical 1 year band aids. Leave the turnover for next year when we will have more money, more draft picks and more time to get players ready.
  19. Free Agency 2020 was basically a huge bust. Still quality corners out there though and if Watkins is cut Marquis Goodwin could be quick fix cheap https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28982519/2020-nfl-free-agency-lessons-happened-record-setting-deals
  20. Probably a major long shot to make the roster much less compete with Henne for the backup role. If they like what they see the PS seems most likely especially with zero offseason program.
  21. He loves them going all the way back to Mark Chumura and Keith Jackson dominating behind Brett Favre in GB. With all our our speed at WR, dominating the seams and adding a big body difference maker in the red zone would just give this offense another dimension IMO. https://www.nj.com/times-sports/2011/06/philadelphia_eagles_and_andy_r.html
  22. Andy Reid loves those multi tight end sets too. If Watkins does go we need another red zone threat and TE2 could be just as doable as a WR to fill that role.
  23. Yep. Trust your draft board and take the best players period.
