  1. I’m just not seeing how a street free agent is really gonna help. But I have seen a few analysts call it a good move. To me I’d be trading for a guard and corner
  2. We need to be realistic about where we are right now and also look at the bigger picture and not rush players back. Even at 4-3 we will completely control our fate within the division. All this team needs to do is get to the postseason relatively healthy and a Super Bowl run is reasonably possible. Best way to secure that playoff spot is to win this division. 4-2 there with another win over Oakland would likely do it in my opinion. If we can steal one of these next two with so many people out we are still in great position to look for more if our players start coming back as diagnosed. But the focus has to be on getting healthy and getting to Janaury in any seed possible.
  3. My preseason list of the most important 5 players on the roster it would hurt the most to lose.. Do the math here and this isn't hard. Heck subtract a 1/2 from Mahomes for an inability to scramble with the ankle. 1. Mahomes 2. Tyreek Hill 3. Eric Fisher 4. Travis Kelce 5. Chris Jones
  4. Love to win both, but I would be shocked with the roster we will field on Sunday. We've got guys off the street and practice squad who will have to play big roles. Essentially Rookie WRs at two of the three spots. A makeshift offensive line that can't block anyone on the left side. And a QB who can't scramble because of a sprained ankle. A dline now missing 3 regular rotation guys including a Pro Bowler. If Andy Reid pulls a rabbit out of his hat and wins on Sunday it will be one of his best coaching weeks ever.
  5. Ryan Hunter got his big chance on Sunday and got beat on every single snap. He's now been waived. Is Jeff Allen still hanging around KC? Actually it looks like we signed DL Terrell McClain as we will be without 3 DL players due to injury on Sunday.
  6. We aren’t good in those Thursday Night games vs division foes especially on the road where we lost to.a 1 win Oakland team. I think Andy gives us a clear coaching advantage that’s neutralized by a short week. I’d take 1-1 the next two and be happy as heck minus any more injuries.
  7. Injuries are not all equal even as teams all sell the next man up principle. There’s a tipping point for every team. We appear to have hit ours right now. Fortunately it only looks temporary at the moment.
  8. I'd be fine with the nagging injury players getting the next two games off. Try to steal one and really start to get healthy for Green Bay/Minnesota. But we aren't going to sit the MVP. I'll bet we change up the game plan though without both of our starting WRs. Problem here is that short week game in Denver 4 days later. This next 10 days is a brutal reality check of the physicality of the NFL and how injuries can derail ANY team. As well as how stupid those Thursday Night games are.
  9. That's not really a valid opinion in my opinion. LOL How many 24 year olds have won the MVP, a division title, gotten a number 1 seed, broken a long home playoff drought, gotten within 1 play of the Super Bowl and currently sit in first place at 4-1 with a horribly banged up team? And they are being wasted? That's just absolutely disrepectful to Andy Reid and a lot of offensive guys around him that help him put up those guady stats including one of the top 3 WRs in football Tyreek Hill. The best TE in football Travis Kelce. Two bookend tackles. And a slew of others who've had huge games. The defense is being reworked completely. It takes time.
  10. No tear so he’s likely out a few weeks. The way I see it we have to get through these next two games and should get Tyreek and Fisher back around the Packers game. Hopefully many of the others who went down Sunday as well. Finding a way to 5-2 to get there without hurting the MVP even more would be huge in my opinion because we are likely playing these next two games minus a ton of talent.
  11. Agree. Just insanely short sighted. We are coming off our most successful season in three decades. Broke the long home playoff losing streak. And have gone into a full overhaul of the defense and scheme that is a work in progress. Not to mention facing injuries that would debilitate most teams. So we go through a little bump in the road and suddenly we are wasting Mahomes and years away from being a contender. 😂
  12. I don’t disagree with the premise at all but reality we are missing two massively important parts of the offense. Get those back and you watch how fast these issues disappear. IE: This is a Super Bowl offense already when healthy and hardly a one man show. As for the defense Veach is in the middle of rebuilding the entire thing, but it can’t be done overnight. We’ve got journeymen band aids at several LB and corner spots that need to be filled in earnest. The Dline has a ton of young talent and there’s clear upside there. Notion a team 1 play from the Super Bowl last year is still years away makes no sense to me. We are struggling right now and at the same time fighting major impactful injuries. The next two games especially will be a struggle. But if we can get relatively healthy THIS team can absolutely win the Lombardi IMO. And based on Spags history we should be even better in 2020.
  13. We’ve got solid bookend tackles that are essential to make this offense go. Fishers absence should make people appreciate him. We are overpaying.LDT, breaking in Reiter and still not sure what we have there and have a backup quality guard starting on the left. But truth be told we had a historically good offense with this formula last year. In short nobody may hold bigger key to our season than Fisher.
  14. We tried to run for 1 yard at the most crucial part of the game but it got completely blown up
  15. Geoff Schwartz @geoffschwartz · 23h The meltdown of Chiefs fans on this twitter machine is completely wild. Missing starting LT, LG, DT, DE, WR1, WR2 and the QB is dinged up... You're going to have a stinker sometimes. It happens. The Pats had multiple stinkers last season.
  16. I will cur Erving some slack on the big 4th down run. On the surface it looked like he whiffed on the block, but Trent Green suggested that typically his responsibility there was to drop down into the B gap. And this is because typically the DE would just keep containment against backside run. Problem is Justin Houston said after the game he recognized our alignment and knew the play. So he went all in after the runner. Erving tried to jump back out, but it was too late.
  17. Jones is a complete stud only one notch below a couple of elite guys. He’s also only 25 years old and has already proven he knows how to better take care of the body which will helps. I think the plan is to pay him. I certainly would.
  18. Historically bad? How so? We gave up 331 yards and 19 points. That's a half a game for our offense on some occasions.
  19. Kind of looks to me like they are stretching the boundary and then running into open rushing lanes we haven't kept GAP responsiblity on. Nelson however just pushed our guys backwards with regularity. And give Mack a ton of credit. That guy is patient and has great vision to find our mistakes and pounce.
  20. I get the logic that a horribly coached team will not be able to coax talent out of someone. So bring him into a good program and you will get a different result. I just think we do a little to much of it. Perhaps part of learning curve for Veach. I like young high upside guys for mid to late round picks, but at some point you have to evaluate NFL game film and not base these pickups on how you evaluated them out of college. We really haven't invested in between the tackles since Allen and Morse. This doesn't necessarily take first rounders, but it does take more than we have done.
  21. With the personel who will likely be available it is going to be very tough sledding against an offense that just put up 55 points yesterday. Certainly going to take some real creativity to keep us competitive short term. Absolutely the last thing I want to do is bring players back to early to win a few games in October. If we can split the next two all things considered and then start to get some key players back instead of losing more. I'd sign up for that right now.
  22. Only 10 carries by the RBs last night. I'm not sure there's any answer short term except to change up and run a lot more shorter patters. Where are the slants against man coverage when we have so much speed at WR? Is this a timing thing that inexperienced WRs aren't good at? And I agree if teams are going to go man up against us then don't we want our RBs getting one on one with a LB on screens. We might have to save deep shots for 1st down play action type deals for now.
  23. We got spoiled here with 20 Pro Bowls from guards drafted round 3 or later since 1990. At the very least we need a guard on day two. Nelson was a real impact player last night. That said we also may not need that type of caliber of guard here as we put up historic numbers with average play. But I think we've let it slip too far now.
  24. We haven't committed many resources to the oline since Andy got here and it shows when backups have to play and by our starting guard play in general. I've changed my mind here. We don't necessarily need to draft a guard in round 1, but we need to commit to rebuilding that group in earnest with a string of moves.
  25. Dorsey really benefitted from inheriting a ton of good players on defense when he got here. He was pretty good on draft day and had the advantage of being #1 on the waiver wire to help quickly supplement. But he also buried this team in bad contracts with underachieving and oft injured players and drafted bad character players recklessly early. Veach came in and has done a GREAT job of getting us out from underneath those contracts but is still hamstrung to the tune of 15 million in dead cap this year to do it. Veach also has struggled with his big contract signings to replace those guys. So while he's signing better types of contracts, he's not signing better players. At least it hasn't panned out that way yet. First draft looks awful, second draft has some really nice potential. Verdict still very much out long term.
