  1. I prefered the belt to being sent to my room and not being able to go play football with the boys. Problem is I would sneak out the window and go play anyway. That's when the belt came out...LOL Agree approach with girls and boys has to be different to be effective.
  2. I used to get the belt all the time. And then one day my Mom was so mad she accidently hit me with the buckle part which left a huge gash and bruise. I remember she cried about it and never used the belt again. But my Dad used to tell her to punch me in the face. LOL I've never even considered hitting my daughter though. In part because I'm a sapp and also because now days taking away the phone is a much more compelling way to discipline. Not to mention she's a far better kid than i was. But more on point, I need more specifics here before I condemn Tyreek.
  3. Don't agree at all. What Hunt did was out of rage and completely innappropriate in any context. If Tyreek or his wife was spanking a kid and he reaches back to protect his butt and it somehow breaks his arm, I'd call that an accident. If he's chasing the kid around the house beating him Rodney King style, I've got no sympathy. There is a very fine line here.
  4. He was apparently spanking his kid with a belt and broke his arm. They took him to the hospital and they reported it.
  5. The kid broke his arm or something like that is what Im hearing. No specifics, no charges at least as of yet. We can only hope for the best here.
  6. We gotta hope. If he’s gonna hop around again and play mainly as a decoy my plan would be to sit him til January and take my chances. As Derwin James said we were pretty much a normal offense last Thursday carried by a QB without weapons. A far cry from the team I think could have put 60 on the Chargers in week 1 if we had too.
  7. With Tyreek hobbled we need one of these backups to emerge with career games. Guys like Conley and Robinson need to prove right now they belong as part of our future. Same with Harris. And these backup RBs have to come up big against a shaky Seahawks run defense.
  8. There are skill position players like Tyreek fighting through injuries that really need a break. As for Mahomes I think he can get a lot better based on Andy’s statements. Once he really understands how to read defenses and can just pick people off in the pocket with that arm. Better at taking what defense gives and not forcing things at the wrong time. I doubt he has many statistical years like this but will be more efficient and still put up big numbers by normal standards. Plus hopefully defense will improve to where he’s not having to throw 40 times per game.
  9. With Justin Houston saying he’s completely healthy unlike last year and Ford potentially restablisbing himself as a pass rush threat plus development of Tanoh and Speaks, I’ve got some real optimism we could actually have some pass rush this year Love the below quote Not sold til I see it though he can defend run “I think he’s had a great camp,” Chiefs’ defensive coordinator Bob Sutton said of Ford following Sunday’s practice. “He’s been really physical in our 9-on-7 run periods. He’s developed into a really good player. He’s had a great attitude and energy out here.”
  10. I think Bob Sutton thinks he’s got his S Smith with Amerson. But if Smith has been training hard with the Mean Macbine then why not take a look. I thought he was done til next year though?
  11. Of course he’s not ruling out trading for a player. That would be silly. But he said this week that he felt we had some holes last offseason and he needed to be aggressive to fill them. Likewise this year he’s had a full offseason here and is clearly more comfortable with his roster.
  12. That should be obvious. But I think goal is adding draft picks. Gotta let training camp play out though because injuries can change things fast.
  13. We’ve got a 22 year old QB, I don’t think it’s likely Andy wants to start trading away his weapons unless we are keeping a guy better than we are trading. IE...possibly Williams over West. Veach seemed pretty content minus injuries with our roster this morning. A late addition through cuts is always viable but I don’t think he feels like he needs to trade a contributor. And Robinson has surprised me with a really good camp.
  14. Obviously he physically everything you want. But Veach really made a point about how they thought he really flashed something his few opportunities to play tackle. Which is why I'm concerned he is playing guard. Plus Grunny knew some coaches personally who didn't have great things to say about his coachability. His technical skills suck. Or at least they did when he got here. Has he really been making progress or is this just a case of Ehringer really sucking. Ill add this though. Veach said this morning that while he always has feelers out there to see who may be available overall, he doesn't see the need we had last offseason to make the two trades he did. That's at least somewhat encouraging he likes his roster.
  15. By all reports its been crazy how many fans have turned up at training camp. They used the term huge crowds again this morning. Just a ton of excitement about this new era and an energy we haven't seen since perhaps the early 90s.
  16. I don’t know. Veach seemed pretty adament he was playing out of position inside and is best suited for tackle. Now guard is easier than center but I’m skeptical especially after hearing our backups have not looked good.
  17. Quick camp thoughts 1. Seems secondary is holding up much better than I expected and great to see our 6th rounder keep flashing. Fullers been all that’s advertised and I like him rolling inside in the nickel package Nelson is coming of age 2. Cam Erving seems to be settling in as the starter at LG which I find really surprising. Likewise our backups have apparently not been good so Veach probably needs to look at adding someone. 3. Ragland back in pads today is a good sign. Let’s see how the knee responds. 4. Been big crowds up at Missouri Western Fans are clearly excited for this era to begin.
  18. Yep. He’s gonna be thrown into the fire against a really good coordinator who’s got two great pass rushers at his disposal. I’m sure Pat will see looks he’s never seen before. Then right to Pitt who always gives our offense fits.
  19. Our schedule the first six weeks is brutal. 4 road games and the AFC runners up and possibly the leagues best defense at Arrowhead.
  20. It’ll be just the opposite in my opinion. I’ll wager my spot on the board on it.
  21. Most young QBs throw a lot of INTs, especially if they are asked to be throw in a lot of obvious situations. Just part of the learning curve. Overreacting to that is just shortsighted.
  22. Entire conversation is pretty silly. Questioning a QBs potential based on a week of training camp is just stupid. I personally can see and would be very happy with a 24 TD, 15 INT type split which would put Mahomes FAR above the bell curve for what most good QBs produced when they were 22-23. I think this is going to be a thrill ride personally thats not for the faint of heart this year.
  23. Young QBs are rarely very productive because they play scared or coaches call very conservative game plans for them. You've got all kinds of stud QBs playing like Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, John Elway, Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisburger, ect, ect with 16-18 TDs and 12-15 INTs..And then you have the guys who aired it out like Stafford, Favre, Manning who threw 25 plus INTs. Young QBs make tons of mistakes. Its that simple. The game plan can manage those mistakes as Andy's often does. But Andy's never had a guy that can throw like this. And it took him 5 seasons to break Alex Smith out of being captain check down. Although he still played like that whent he stakes got high enough. That stuff can become engrained in you after years of failure like Alex had.
  24. First off certainly we can agree that every QB is different and develops at a different pace. Would you have been throwing in the towel or demoting Manning or Favre after horrific first full seasons as a starter. Because it would have been incredibly short sighted to do so. It’s rare to get a QB with elite skills those guys had and Mahomes has. This doesn’t mean you start off a HOFer or even good or sometimes even mediocre By the way Carson Wentz had 16 TDs, 14 INTs his rookie season. What type of reaction would you have if Mahomes has those numbers?
