I think he is a guard. He does not have the footwork, at least not yet, to play tackle. Train him up to play in a phone booth and let him take over for Thuney when his contract is up.

Bottom line is Henne is the backup. Reid won’t go into the season, barring injury, without a vet in that role, and probably not then either.
He didn’t roll with Shumur in 2019 when Henne got hurt. He signed Moore off the street.
Rookie Mahomes backing up AS11 in 2018 was an obvious exception to that rule, but…Mahomes.

Reid said in yesterday's presser that they did the exact same thing last year. Henne did not play in the second preseason game, so they could get a better look at the competition for QB3.
