  1. True, but I was referring not just to him but Kinnard, et al. The nightmare SB happened precisely because of a lack of quality backups on the line.
  2. Overview Morris is an athletic pass-setter with a strong inside hand but lacks a desired level of core strength to effectively push back against rush bullies. He’s very average at getting to positioning for back-side cut-off blocks in the run game and struggles to stay connected to sustain blocks due to inconsistent hand placement and drive strength in his lower half. His physical profile and experience starting at both tackle spots should give him a leg up in a camp battle for a swing tackle role. Strengths Former five-star prospect with NFL-caliber traits. Pass slides are controlled and gain necessary depth. Lands quick, stiff inside hand for early punch points. Very smooth and athletic redirecting feet to catch inside counters. Works hip to hip on his double teams. Accurate radar finding targets as pull blocker. Decent acceleration fitting his run blocks. Weaknesses Struggles with pad level and angles in making cut-off blocks. Needs to lower his aim and landing zone for hand placement. Gets knocked backward by opponents with firm hands. Headbutts replace knee bend into contact when pulling in space. One-and-done pass punch could use more snatch-and-secure. Rarely keeps back flat and chin tucked through the pass rep.
  3. From the outside looking in, these picks have been a bit underwhelming. I get it.
  4. NFL.com: Overview Talented but enigmatic receiver with game tape that shows a lack of consistency and impressive ball skills. Rice has enough top-end speed to attack vertically but has a tendency for nonchalant running on intermediate routes and zone-beaters underneath. In one game you might see terrific ball-tracking and jump-ball victories followed by frustrating drops and a lack of physicality in fighting back on contested catches. The route inefficiencies can be cleaned up, but Rice must play with better consistency and urgency to find long-term NFL reps. Strengths Good blend of size, length and speed. Second gear allows for decent vertical separation. Works hard to keep cornerbacks stacked once he’s on top. Effective ball-tracking with talent to alter trip to the football. Impressive leap-and-lean on jump-ball challenges. Play strength to separate late and snatch with extended hands. Scrambles with quarterback and works hard back on throws. Weaknesses Can be nonchalant through drive phase of intermediate routes. Lacks commitment to detail as a route runner. Too content to play jump ball. Inconsistent use of frame to shield defender. Slow to sink and open into zone voids. Frequent free-releaser who needs to prove he can beat press. Sources Tell Us “The production looks good this year, but I think Danny Gray was a better prospect coming out last year. (Rice) can run but you don’t always see his speed when he plays.” -- Scouting director for AFC team
  5. Yeah, but the drop off in LT talent is so profound I don't see any one worth taking. Other than that, I concur. A solid R2 WR and safety help, with DL depth looks good to me.
  6. I'm the most draft ignorant of anyone here, so most of the guys I know were taken last night. Maybe that TE from ND? And a WR. A DT would be nice, plus depth at OL.
