  1. Mathieu won't be missed at all. Clark will be ok, above average. He won't hurt us. Bolton and Gay are studs who will excel this year. Chenal is a wild card. Rookie LBs always are. But, I get the feeling he'll be a guided missile disrupting offenses and forcing them to game plan around him by the second half of the season. Not sure about the D-Line, but the LBs will be outstanding.
  2. I had DTV and Sunday Ticket ~ 2000 - 2013, when I cut the cord for good. Haven't missed it a bit. No idea how much money I saved but it's in the thousands of dollars.
  3. It's past time for Otis. Lesser players make it almost every year.
  4. That might be the most beautiful monument I've ever seen.
  5. I remember it well. I was with a roofing crew, sweating in the sweltering heat in Pineville, La. roofing buildings at the state hospital. Good lord, that roof was hot. Someone brought a radio and the top of the hour news reported his death. I couldn't believe it. Doesn't seem like 39 years has passed.
  6. Oh, man, I can't imagine. The surgery was successful, and it looks like more treatment ahead. I hope they get this thing over quick. I can't stand this sort of thing happening to a little girl. Poor kid.
  7. Yeah, I prefer Sunday at noon, as God intended. It's far more convenient for me than prime time. And I hate Thursday night games. Just a couple of Monday night is cool, but jumping all over the weekly map annoys me in my old age. Freaking money-grubbing NFL.
  8. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/5/13/23070221/arrowheadlines-chiefs-handed-toughest-first-half-of-schedule-in-nfl-history Chiefs handed toughest first half of schedule in NFL history
  9. My first Chiefs game, preseason 1989 in Memphis. Cherry was leading the DBs in pregame warmups. I got star struck and yelled out “Deron!” He looked at me annoyed and gave a little wave. My friend laughed.
  10. Free agent punter from Rutgers. The Chiefs had an All Pro free safety, Gary Barbaro who jumped ship to the USFL just before the 1983 season. Chiefs were so thin at DB they threw Cherry in as a last second replacement in hopes of eventually finding a suitable free safety in place of Barbaro. The rest is history.
  11. Stephone Paige, IMO the best KC receiver since Otis Taylor, was an UDFA.
  12. Bet they put Kinnard as a human steamroller at RT next to Smith and it will remind us of the Nebraska pipeline from the Osborne days.
  13. 56 - Dino Hackett 21 - Dennis Homan Following in the paths of greatness.
  14. AAA and Chanel. A steal. I can't find any flaws in this draft. Just outstanding.
  15. I don't remember either conference having so many top tier teams at one time as the AFC has now. And they're mostly high flying, high scoring offensive juggernauts, making the defensive emphasis in this draft all the better.
  16. Maybe, just maybe, we finally have a GM who knows more than we do.
  17. Veach committed grand larceny with this kid. Just like he did with Smith last year.
  18. It's weird how after all these decades yelling at the TV, knowing what the Chiefs need to improve yet watching them seemingly ignore glaring weaknesses, all of a sudden they are getting it done. Last year, the O-Line was the weakness: Boom - fixed. This year, weaknesses at DE, LB, WR, S and CB: Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Veach is playing no games. He knows what they need and drafts accordingly.
