  1. I hope so, but not sure. The next few weeks will tell.
  2. That defense would be impossible these days. FIVE hall of famers on the field at the same time (Bell, Buchanan, Robinson, Thomas, Lanier), and several other players who were of the same calibre (Mays, Culp, Brown, Lynch). No modern defense is even remotely comparable.
  3. Fisher, too, was cleared to play. I'd rather they err on the side of caution. I want Mahomes at QB for the next 10 - 12 years.
  4. Arrowhead Addict: Patrick Mahomes injury update: Chiefs quarterback out for a ‘brief absence’ The MRI results are back and Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes is expected out for a “brief absence” with a knee injury. The Kansas City Chiefs have finally received word on the biggest injury update in a long time with word that starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes is expected to only have a “brief absence,” per Ian Rapoport, due to a knee injury. The Chiefs lost Mahomes in the second quarter of the team’s Thursday Night Football game in Denver to open Week 7. Mahomes was trying to convert a short fourth down situation near the goal line, and on a called quarterback sneak, Mahomes was unable to get back up from the pile of players involved. It was soon discovered that Mahomes’ kneecap had been dislocated. He was quickly taken to the locker room and the team declared him out for the game shortly thereafter. Matt Moore then entered the game as the team’s new starter in the wake of Mahomes’ injury. From there, Moore is likely to be the starter until Mahomes is ready and able to come back. The Chiefs have a nice 10-day rest period after playing on a short week, which should help the rest of the team heal up as well—especially as the Chiefs are waiting on the likes of defensive lineman Chris Jones, wide receiver Sammy Watkins, and left tackle Eric Fisher to return from injury. If Mahomes is out for a minimum time frame, he could come back for one or more important games before the team’s bye. The Chiefs now rest up before starting their practice week to face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football at Arrowhead Stadium on October 27. From there they face the Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee Titans and finally the L.A. Chargers before heading into a bye week in late November.
  5. I'm curious how he will look after a long week being the number one in practice, especially with Andy working with him. He may surprise us.
  6. If Pat is out for a long time, you go with Matt. You simplify the playbook, emphasize the run, play good defense and play to win every game. It's simple.
  7. Bleacher Report posted that Mahomes will miss "at least three weeks." Larry Brown Sports is reporting the same, likely from the same source. But, of course, that's all speculation at this point.
  8. Agreed. He's at the beginning of a long career. If the worst case scenario plays out and it's a serious injury, 2019 may need to be sacrificed so he can play for the next 10 or 12 years.
  9. I've been scouring the internet all morning and can't find any news about Mahomes. ie when his test results will be known. Anyone heard anything?
  10. Definitely. Some might say it was just a bad Denver offense, but they'd be wrong. The D played lights out with an intensity and fire I haven't seen in years.
  11. While that's true, Andy has built this team around this QB. Other teams, New Orleans for example, can lose a franchise QB and never miss a beat. The Chiefs aren't built that way.
  12. Nobody call me right now. I need to keep the phone open for Andy's call.
  13. History lesson: in the Chiefs super bowl season, Mike Livingston got more snaps than Dawson, who was injured much of the year. When the Dolphins went undefeated, Earl Morrall got more snaps than Bob Greise, who was injured much of the year. Good teams make it happen.
  14. Just need to dink and dunk and run the ball. Play good defense.
  15. The NFL MVP goes down and instead of giving us any news about his condition, the just show us Howie and co, yucking it up and pimping their games this Sunday.
  16. We need a whole bunch of Martyball for the second half.
  17. It's his job. He gets paid to be an NFL qb. He needs to step up and earn his paycheck.
  18. Optimistically, Pat has a long week to heal. So, there's that.
