It all needed to be in there. You can't lower the bar any more than Hill has on character. Didn't even deny breaking his toddler's arm on a recorded phonecall, essentially admitted to punching his toddler in the chest to discipline him, referred to people as "all those f'ing white people", and Chiefs fans let him off the hook for it because he produced on the field. The dude is a POS. Character matters, especially since it appears Mahomes has plenty of it.

I really believe it's a win for the Chiefs, and it isn't even close.

The Chiefs got rid of a child/woman-beating racist clown (albeit a really talented clown) who was demanding a ridiculous contract, and were basically able to steal an entire draft worth of picks from a team that's going to suck in the process... It's a HUGE win for the Chiefs. I can't believe they were able to pull that off.

Mahomes reverted back to his Texas Tech days. It's fun to watch but it isn't always going to win games. With how hard the Bengals front 4 were coming at him in the 2nd half, and how many dropped back into coverage, if you don't want to run, why not throw some RB screens? The Packers did that all the time when defenses pressured Favre and dropped into umbrella coverages, and it was damned near unstoppable. But with all the criticism I'm seeing here, sometimes the other team just plays REALLY well, and the Bengals played really well in the 2nd half of that game. They easily could have fallen apart down 21-3 but they kept their cool and chipped away series by series. Their coaching was fantastic.

The Chiefs doubled Chase all day leaving Higgins in single coverage a lot, and he stepped up BIG. The Chiefs would definitely benefit from another receiving threat on the outside.

Yeah, for sure. When that drive started I assumed the Chiefs would score, go up 4, and leave about 30 seconds for Burrow to throw an INT or for time to run out. But Mahomes didn't look as poised as he usually does.

I think you guys are being too hard on Reid and not nearly hard enough on Mahomes. Once the Bengals changed their gameplan at halftime, he was rattled for most of the 2nd half. And he is the one who checked down to Hill behind the LOS at the end of the half, not Andy...

The Chiefs were in that position because Mahomes ran out of bounds twice, stopping the clock, and held the ball too long when he stayed in bounds.

Chiefs were doing so well on both sides in the first half, whatever adjustments the Bengals made, particularly on the defensive front, at halftime, worked to near perfection.

Mahomes stopping the clock and holding the ball too long botched the time management, not Reid.

On paper and as evidenced by their first game this season, the Chiefs should win convincingly. That said, for whatever reason I feel like the Steelers are going to make it interesting.

Don’t worry, Fangio and Shurmur have an entire 2nd half to screw up. The Chiefs are fine.

Checkdown Teddy is as developed as he is ever going to be. The Broncos should have just stuck with Lock, who at the very least gas elite arm talent and doesn’t puss out of every throw over 15 yards. That would at least realize, for better or worse, the draft pick they used to acquire him. Above average QB play wins that game Sunday, but Teddy is just average. Seems like a great guy, but his skills are average. His propensity to check down every read over 10 yards is the stuff of offensive nightmares.

Try sitting through a game of "Checkdown Teddy" seeing a wide open Post or Seam, then playing like a cowardly little bitch and throwing the 5 yard hitch on 3 and 10. It's a losing venture for the fans. It was like the Griese/Orton years. Denver was competitive, but it was a frustrating and horrific way to spend 3 hours of a life.

The Broncos made it to like 7 or 8 Super Bowls between the time the Chiefs made it to their Super Bowl and drafted Mahomes... I wouldn't let this success go to your head too much dude, not so long ago this board was bending over backwards to try and convince us that Brodie Croyle and Tyler Thigpin were franchise quarterbacks while the Chiefs were basically just a glorified bye week for every other team in the AFC West... It always comes full circle.

You guys need to settle down over here... Denver is going to give KC the Dallas treatment. Shrooms will meet foreheads. /gg

My coaches used to yell at me when I would leave the pocket for no logical reason. The reason QBs do this is because they aren't comfortable throwing stationary from a collapsing pocket. Mahomes is going to have to evolve as a QB if he wants to stay elite in the NFL. If he hyper-focused on his pocket skills, he would be damn-near unstoppable.

Only if they move on from "check-down" Teddy and Vic Fangio.

I've watched a lot of Chiefs football this season and to me, all those warning signs NFL scouts had regarding Mahomes are playing out this season, probably because teams now understand how to defend his play-style more effectively. He's obviously incredibly talented, but he is playing with a nervous energy. The Chiefs playcall this season is also not doing him any favors either.

The Lambs get Von for half a season to try and close out their Super Bowl run, Elway gets 2 decent draft picks to squander in April, and Von will likely resign with the Broncos again anyway. It's probably a win-win for both teams.

This is why Andy Reid's game-plan was so perplexing to me... When your line sucks ass it makes a lot of sense to install a gameplan that protects your QB with short passing and a lot of screens. Reid didn't bother protecting Mahomes. And that clock management at the end of the half - amateur hour.

RIP. That alone cements his legacy as a really good NFL HC.

I read today that Josh McDaniels wants the Cleveland job and that Pioli is on his short list of executives that he wants to take with him.

Oh that's right, I forgot about Tyler Palko lol...
