  1. Drew Lock looks awesome. The last two games are the first two games in a really long time that watching the Denver offense wasn't nauseating.
  2. Let’s revisit this after the game this week.
  3. Not if Cousins is having an ON night. If he is, he might be the best QB in the NFL.
  4. When I heard that Elway's plan was to bring in Shanahan/Cousins as a package deal I was freaking pumped. Then Joe Ellis stepped in and stopped it. Cousins, WHEN ON, is incredible. If you can tap that 75% of the season, your team will make the playoffs. The Vikings are solid, and their running game has come on strong, which has really helped Cousins out as well. Now you have to pick your poison with them, and neither poison is easy to deal with.
  5. This pretty much sums it up. Cousins is impossible to predict, but if he's on then the Vikings will likely beat any team in the NFL. If he's off basically anyone can beat them. It's really weird.
  6. Fox was a good but not great coach. He's good enough to not lose you winnable games, but he isn't great enough to win Super Bowls. I think when Seattle lit up John Fox's defense in the Super Bowl Elway realized Fox was at his ceiling.
  7. I forgot to mention that the Denver offensive line has sucked for years now, and that's on Elway.
  8. I'm not defending anything. Keenum doesn't suck, he's a decent QB. He had a really good season with the Vikings and he was average with the Broncos. Denver drafted Drew Lock, we'll see if he develops or not, from what I saw in preseason, there's a lot of upside to work with.
  9. You're showing bias and ignorance here bruh. Elway didn't draft Tebow, Josh McDaniels did. Keenum did not suck. He is a DECENT starting QB, one of the most reliable starting free agent QBs on the market. Osweiler was drafted to backup Peyton Manning and potentially start after, he didn't develop, but he wasn't completely afwul. Trevor Siemian was never supposed to start, he was a 7th round draft pick who would be a good backup QB for any team, in fact, he suffered a catastrophic leg injury this season being a good backup for the J-E-T-S. Flacco has won a Super Bowl. The only QB on that list that truly sucked was Paxton Lynch, but he was also a coveted 1st round QB option for a lot of teams - not just Denver. Jerry Jones was going to draft him over Dak Prescott if Elway didn't. Again, if Elway had his way, Kirk Cousins would be starting for the Denver Broncos right now, and that would have been fine by me.
  10. He brought in Keenum, who is a decent QB. He attempted to bring in Cousins but was shut down by his boss, and Cousins is a solid QB. Other than that, there just aren't that many decent starting QBs out there. The Texans paid a shit ton of money for Osweiler, outbidding Denver to keep him, and he ended up sucking, so you could say that Elway was smart for not overpaying to keep him. What good would a Tannehill type QB do Denver? It would just be more mediocrity. I have no problem with Elway gambling on QBs, because settling for an average QB in a pass-happy NFL doesn't make much sense. Elway will eventually find a QB. My main problem with Elway are his coaching hires. I realize he was blindsided by Kubiak retiring due to health reasons, but Vance Joseph and now Vic Fangio were stupid hires. Elway seems enamored with defensive HCs but all of his success in the NFL came under an offensive HC - Mike Shanahan. I would like to see him bring in an offensive guru from college and hire a solid DC like Denver ALREADY had with Wade Phillips.
  11. Matt Moore isn't terrible. He's entirely average, which is fine for a backup QB. 9-7 might win the AFC West, that's doable with Moore.
  12. I mean - it's like franchise QBs grow on trees, right? The Chiefs drafted one in the past half century. How dare Elway struggle to find his QBotF when there are so many floating around out there. You'll see Drew Lock after the bye week at some point, if his thumb is in fact healed.
  13. "Really bad" doesn't begin to adequately convey how bad Denver's offense actually is.
  14. The heavy passing late in games with leads was more of a Philly gripe about Reid, I honestly believe he would have won Super Bowls with better playcall and game management in the 4th quarters in Philly. He built really solid teams there and McNabb was good ENOUGH to win with.
  15. Yeah right. The Denver offense makes me ill to watch. Denver isn't winning this game dudue.
  16. Andy Reid is an overall good coach, but you would think after this long in the NFL his time management would be better, it's actually baffling that he still sucks in that area. Time management his failure to stick to the run late in games are probably what has kept him from winning Super Bowls.
  17. Opposite of your politics, your football assessments are usually spot on. You are taking a beating in this thread but your post is actually logical and well-reasoned.
  18. Dude, just wait until you see the Denver offense play this week... It's terrible. There is nothing redeeming about it, at all. Houston has a great QB/WR combination, and that is why they were able to beat KC. If Denver had any semblance of a reliable passing game they would have beaten the Titans 40-0. But they don't, and Tennessee was very much in the game late in the 3rd quarter.
  19. Let's not go crazy here now... I don't think Denver wins this game, not by a long shot. The Denver offense is pathetic. Mike Shanahan was running a far more complex passing game back in the mid 1990s than what Denver does today, in 2019. And Average Joe Flacco doesn't attack the field the way a QB should. If Denver somehow wins this game it will be the result of a superhuman effort from it's defense, and the Denver running game delivering. But that's improbable, in my opinion.
  20. Clark was either overrated due to the Seattle system being so strong, or he got his massive contract and doesn't give a shit anymore, or a bit of both. If he isn't playing hurt then he is just playing below expectations. He also clearly has character issues, so he may not be someone you ever want to hand $105 MILLION to in the first place... Spags has proven over the years he runs a solid 4-3 system, and by all metrics, Clark was supposed to be the ideal 4-3 DE for his system.
  21. Denver's defensive front played lights out against the Titans, I don't think it's going to be the bye week you guys are thinking it will be...
  22. Yeah, it's going to be interesting. Also, Arizona has installed the Texas Tech air raid offense, the same offense that Mahommes ran in college. Fun to watch and all, but the QB is going to be take a pounding. I guess we'll find out really fast if a true air raid offense will work at the NFL level, and if so, can the QB running said offense survive?
  23. Murray can throw the ball like Wilson only wishes he could, there is no real comparison there other than size. Kyler Murray has one of the strongest arms in the NFL, and is accurate.
