This isn't the case cracker that solves our secondary issues. He's generally a solid player that has upside and comes on a cheap incentive laden deal. The contract says it all. I'll add we signed David Amerson to almost identical contract last year and he turned out to be a huge bust and didn't make it to game one. But these types are hit or miss and worth the small investment again because there is upside.

Agree...5 mil isn't even the deal. From what I understand it's incentive driven and tops out at 5 mil. We got him for pretty cheap it looks like. Let him prove himself. If he turns out to be another Amerson then he is gone with not a lot invested in him. But there is definitely upside and if Breeland can recapture some of the spark he had early on then it is a great return on investment. Remember, last year Carolina was going to sign him to a 3 yr/$24 million deal until his foot injury screwed it up for him.

810 is saying Breeland's deal is 1 year $5 million.  Would have liked it to be for longer but it seems like 1 year deals are common now.

I like the fact that it's a 1-year deal. He has major injury history and hasn't come back to fully perform at a high level. This way we are not taking any financial risks while getting a possibly solid CB or a bust on a rental deal. This is basically Scandarick with more upside.

Great point here  as it pertains to the potential of replacing Steven Nelson for cheap.  That contract with Carolina and the one Nelson just signed with Pittsburgh are almost indentical.  So if he’s healthy, Breeland and Nelson are viewed very similarly in terms of overall talent.  So we get a good shot at an upgrade from Scandrick or a decent shot at repacking Nelson for cheap. That’s a good signing.

All players get beat, even the best get beat.

Hopefully that doesn't happen too often though.

He'll see AB 2 times a year for the next few years....hope he doesn't repeat that performance.

Only Jimmy Smith could contain AB.

"Why have the Ravens been so successful in containing Brown? It starts with cornerback Jimmy Smith.

The only time Brown has scored a touchdown against Baltimore was two years ago, when Smith didn't play. In Smith's seven games against Pittsburgh, Brown has one 100-yard game and no touchdowns." and in 2018, AB caught 4 balls for 42 yds and 1TD vs a limited Jimmy Smith.
