Agreed. He has a defense that is a better fit for him and a new coach. If he can’t get playing time thus year, it’s time to let him go. I think he has s shot at breaking out as does Speaks. Hope so.

Speaks needs to break out as does KPass and I would throw O'Daniel in there. Could also say that about Watts and Lucas. And Fuller and Hitchens need to have bounce back years and....am I missing anyone?

Hard to imagine all that happening. Its probably safe to say 1 or 2 on that list will not pan out at all.

I saw some good film breakdown of Speaks yesterday and he’s CLEARLY better with a hand in the dirt.  The OLB thing was a farce and I expect a big jump from him.

Tanoh. No clue. You just don’t hear much about him. Is this a trade candidate? Are they slow playing him for some reason?

They are secretly working on making him into a tight end.

I think Tanoh will play better with his hand in the dirt as well. Both him and speaks were so miscast with Sutton

I doubt Kpass has any value whatsoever at this point. He's either a decent 4-3 prospect or a cut candidate and I'm pretty sure nobody would give up anything for him until they see something. He looked really good in his college tape as a 4-3 guy and showed some flashes (flasher :D ) here and there but I think he's basically a low risk high reward guy that we added to the camp roster assuming his cap hit isn't a problem at some point.

Kansas City Chiefs

Second round of the 2017 draft (No. 59 overall)
Actual pick: Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova
Do-over pick: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC

Kpassagnon contributed little in two seasons and was often a healthy scratch late last season. Had the Chiefs drafted Smith-Schuster, who went three picks later to the Steelers, they wouldn't have needed to overpay for Sammy Watkins in free agency the next year. Perhaps Kpassagnon's career is revived by a switch from linebacker to his college position of defensive end this season, but he has looked like a lost pick so far. -- Adam Teicher

I think these "in hindsight drafts" would make most sick.   I don't think it's ever wise to take such big projects like Kpass in the 2nd round.     That money we had to spend on Watkins could have gone towards signing an impact defensive player and when we were one play from going to the SB........ifs and buts man, ifs and buts.

It could be that KPass's weakness is between the ears. Without some beefy neurons in there, the rest of it isn't of much use.

Sadly, you may be right.  Can't fix stupid.  But there's also the hope that he can learn enough to play with his hand on the dirt and be an effective DE when he doesn't have to worry about OLB responsibilities.  If you can't fix stupid, find a spot where it doesn't matter so much.

I don't think the problem is between the ears.  He's a very smart dude.  Finance double major, parents are scientists I believe.

Problem is probably just he hasn't played that long and hasn't really developed his instincts.  And it's not like he got a lot of development from Sutton.

They had a pretty good OLB coach last year to learn from.  I think the biggest issue with Tanoh is thst he plays pretty stiff (a little surprising) and some guys can play like that, but most can't.

With how damn big he is in general, he needs to play with great balance and he really doesn't.

He was miscast at OLB.  Plenty of good players who were not bendy.  They just play with their hand in the dirt.

Interesting.  I obviously didn't know that.

Maybe he needs to lay off the Viagra, then.

He didn't look dull in the game he played a lt against defender and had a sack and other pressures.

He was miscast by a dinosaur that had no idea to begin with.

Im not saying he will be great.  But I don't trust anything sutton

What game was that?  The Jaguars one?  He was going against a 6th string tackle.
