I can’t see us releasing anyone. Sorensen I guess would be the most likely but why now when we’ve got so much Cap room?

Sure.

Maybe extend guys. Roll over cap. Sign a key June 1st cut or two from another team.

That all makes sense. Extending Jones seems important although they may be waiting for the Tyreek situation to evolve before that. If we sign a WR it would be a telltale sign.  We definitely need a TE and Corner though.

Any key guys on the bubble elsewhere that fit KC?

I don't understand how Sorensen is still on the team other than for ST.   Cutting him frees up money now and if we don't sign anyone it rolls over so we can front load the massive contract we will be offering for Chris Jones.   I look for us to be very active after cuts.  We still need a more experienced WR,  TE depth, another CB and possibly an upgrade at SAM LB.

For all we know Hills fiance has more dirt on Hill and will just wait to really stick it to him.  If I wanted to really screw someone over like that I would wait and let him think he is in the clear and right before he comes back from his suspension release what I have.  I just don't think the Chiefs can every be too confident in the availability of Hill.   He's definitely a bonus but Veach would be foolish with a SB caliber team to not address the position after cuts.

The only major spending seems to be an extension for Chris Jones. So unless there's a trade or some big name FAs become available I don't expect to see any considerable cuts in KC. Sorensen saves the most money and probably already a weak link in a young but talented Safety group.

Talk about Josh Norman possibly being cut.  Not near the corner he was or his mouth says he is but he would still be our #1 guy sadly haha.

Norman for Ragland with Foster down for the year.

Not at Norman's contract as it sits

Chiefs would only be on the hook for the remaining salary.  11m in 2019 and 12m for 2020.  Skins would have to eat the guarantees, but they're in the last 2 years so not much there either.

Every year there are not jut June 1 cuts but several surprises thrown in. Veach has shown he is willing to go after guys he targets or liked previously. I would feel much better with better depth at TE and corner. A lot made out of getting another receiver. I think Mahomes raises that stock by just being Mahomes. Someone is going to have a career year whether its Robinson, Pringle, Hardman, Deiter, Kemp, Custus....

Early Sunday morning, the Kansas City Chiefs added $9.55 million to their salary cap space. Per OverTheCap.com, the Chiefs now have $25.17 million in cap space for 2019.

The Chiefs got this additional cap space because when they cut safety Eric Berry on March 13, they designated his release as a post-June 1 cut. In the convoluted world of the NFL salary cap, this means that on Saturday, Berry’s cap hit for 2019 was reduced by $9.55 million.

It’s important to note that giving Berry’s release a post-June 1 designation hasn’t saved the Chiefs any real money; essentially the last two years of Berry’s pro-rated signing bonus (which would normally be charged against the cap this season) is simply moved to the 2020 season. The Chiefs will carry $8 million in dead money from Berry’s contract next season.

Side Note: Watkins hit.

Well we use that on extensions for Jones and others. Use next years huge cap towards a signing or 2 and get our guys locked up. We also can make more room on the cap next year if Watkins does not perform or stay healthy this year,  Sorenson etc. I like how Veach has set us up.

Sure. Good thoughts. Im still not sold on Veach though. I Hope Hitchens , Watkins, Ragland and Clark have awesome seasons. Would like to see some of that savings used now for at least one more quality player contributing this year! Life is full of u-turns. You never know what tomorrow and especially 2020 will look like. Be ALL IN THIS YEAR!

That means getting a starting CB and #2 TE if the Chiefs are all in for this season.

Trade for one of these 2, other off the wire when released. Rudolph I think would be great for us at #2 TE.
