The asking price starting out is two 1st round picks. Jags would be dumb to not set the bar high and see if someone bites. Then the negotiating begins for real. They will get a 1st rounder plus something. On top of that he is going to be due an extension and get a huge chunk o cash. His talent is undeniable.

If true, it's a terrible move.  Draft picks are going to be even more of a premium for the Chiefs because of the amount of money Mahomes will command.  Shipping them off for an asshat with 1 year left on his contract is bad business, and will hurt us in the long run.

I bet it comes with him being extended to whoever trades for him. Stupid not to get the extension if not.

An extension makes it worse.  How many big contracts could we dole out?

22 million this year in cap space. Work on Jones too or we can tag for 2020 year. Mahomes is due in 2020 unless we option 2021, which you know we will. Cap space will go up each year and we can cut Watkins, Sorensen etc too. We have hardman now, Thornhill now and set up nicely getting these depth draft picks for upcoming beeds a year before in place and hitting on them too. Veach has a plan and we are all learning it as it goes along.

Look at 2020 free agents. Jones we need to get done. Sherman loves it here. Need to see if Robinson will stay. Maybe Fuller and Lee. Still not earth shaking to lose some of these. Will see who we can keep.

2021 watkins and sorensen may be done well before this any ways.

Mahomes can be picked up this next year. Kpass, Nieman and Ward all depend on how they shape up or may be even extended next year before they hit FA then? Everyone else is fine if we dont extend imo.

All of this plus cap goes up each year. It can be done.

I have never met a football fan that is more of a tightwad in nature. Ever. Veach has done a fantastic job with the cap here, Scrooge. Having the best CB in football locked up through his prime isnt problematic. It's a solution. What the hell is cap space good for if you dont use it?

Thinking out loud. If Hardman has a really good season? He looked really good against Oakland. KC may consider trading Hill? Robinson also looked really good. Hill would be a big bargaining chip, cap reduction and open up things for Hardman. Thats a big if.....but so far Hardman looks capable. Maybe Trade Hill, rework Watkins contract and there you go. High picks and Cap Room.
