I don't think we can assume that so easily because our defense is still a question mark or at least an unknown.

If we could count on a top 10 defense then I would smirk at this and tend to agree, but if the defense goes back to how bad it's been then we're probably screwed.

I think with Matt Moore we could struggle to put up points so if our defense reverts back to it's old self, I think it will be hard for us to beat anyone without Mahomes.

However, if what we saw from the defense was in fact a step in the right direction and we can expect them to hold their own, then .500 without Mahomes out is not unrealistic.

Many in here look at the future vs living in the present. The problem with that is the future may not come. Many of us that saw the Chiefs play in two of the first four SBs assumed they would be back again in the future. How's that worked out so far?

Win today and hope the winning continues in the future.

Next year in the first game of the season, Mahomes could get hit scrambling around and end his career. Knock on wood, pray to God, worship Allah what ever you do that this doesn't happen but it could. So never put off to tomorrow because tomorrow may never come.
