Not sure, but it would seem odd. I Mariota is a dumb QB but has the arm strength and occasional good throws that can hurt us. Tannehill doesn’t have Mariotas mobility but he’s a superior passer, especially downfield averaging a full YPA better than Marcus. He’s been over 300 yards twice on his last three weeks with 6 TD passes while Mariota only did it once in 6 starts. This move was made to jump start passing game. Keys off play action where Mariota simply couldn’t beat one on one coverage enough with his inaccurate arm. Tannehill can beat you there. Agree with this. Simply making point he’s been an upgrade from Mariota because he can actually get the ball downfield. That can help us with pressure. He was supposedly Piol's last chance to keep his job until Miami took him a few spots ahead of us. Would have been a very different story for us if that happened as a new QB would give Pioli a couple more years at GM so it would definitely create a butterfly effect. I think they hope to wear the defense down by power running so by the 4th quarter its close and they can control the clock. That is the plan. However, Henry is not a versatile weapon. Not used a lot on screens. Probably use Dion Lewis for those. Need to do a better job there. Tannehill is serviceable and has decent weapons to throw to however the Offensive coordinator is in his 1st year and seems over his head a lot of the time. The Titans defense is legit but Malcolm Butler was just put on IR and Jurrell Casey has a shoulder injury that might keep him out. That is a huge blow for them. If Mahomes plays they will not be able to stop the offense. This is a game the Chiefs should win and I think they will. D-line is looking good right now from the breakout of Nnadi and KPass. Saunders has played well for a rookie. I think we will do well against the Titans. If Mahomes plays and starts making plays from outside the pocket, not even a good day from Henry will allow them to keep up with us. The thing nobody seems to mention but which has been key for us the last few games is the PI penalties and holding penalties from both sides are waaaaaay down. Unless there are a couple of turnovers by us, I don't think even good days by Henry and Lewis will be enough for them to beat us. Per Arrowhead Addict: 5 Surprises Article; The Chiefs have amassed the 31st ranked unit in terms of adjusted sack rate, and Erving has one of the bottom ranked left tackles in the league. Unfortunately, the line has been one of the bad surprises. Two weeks ago the Chiefs thought Fisher was close to returning, and then he re-injured his groin in practice and they had to shut him back down. When he returns is anyone’s guess, but it’s clear that the team, and Mahomes, will be eager to get him back.
