Chiefswinitall 60
IS a bulldozer. He could have won us a few games if we had him.
sith13 1,746
Definitely a beast. We need to add linemen like him in the next draft.
Chiefsfan1963 1,101
Problem is, you never have everything. The Chiefs had a great line with the Willie's but no D. They had the D with DT and Neil but not a constant big time O. Unfortunately in today's NFL you either build up one side of the ball or the other or you have mediocrity on both. Pick your poison because there is not enough $$$ to go around.

A lot of Super Bowl champions are complete teams.

Hot at the right time always helps. But generally speaking if you look at most Super Bowl champions they don't have any real positional weaknesses. They certainly aren't all strengths, but there's no historically bad defense or train wreck LBs or offensive lines that can't block. That type of stuff. For the Chiefs this year we really don't have major weaknesses except on the oline (and that could be helped a lot if Fisher can truly come back strong) and covering LBs and RBs. Veach managed to put together a band aid group of corners who aren't bad. As such if we can get hot, we can still get this thing done.

You don't need to spend a lot of money on all positions to be complete, there are a few key ones but the rest can be handled rather easily if the priorities are set correctly. Some teams simply try to imitate what other successful ones do or did in the past but that doesn't always work. Some GMs definitely know how to analyze situations whereas quite a bit of them are simply GMs because they come from a football background while not being smart enough to succeed on their own. There are also some basics that rarely change but some GMs are more focused on selling tickets than winning the big one.
