Chiefsfan1963 1,101
Don't believe current players should be in contention. To me, they are saying if the current players never take another snap they are in the HOF. West
reesebobby 5,662
12 make it. Gotta figure Butkus, LT, Lambert, Ray Lewis, Singletary and Nitschke are locks. I don't see how Lanier doesn't make the next 6. But they probably take some of the guys from the 30's, 40's and 50's that I don't have a clue on. None of the linebackers. But some current players belong.

The thing is current players can always screw up their careers and will definitely get undeserved favor over others that might not be remembered as much. Tom Brady could kill a drifter and throw backwards for 10,000 yards and not screw up his career. oldtimer

That's true but he might be the best ever to play the position which makes him an exceptional situation. The problem arises with guys like JJ Watt vs some retired names in which case Watt could have an undeserved advantage.
Thegoatee 1,780
I think you’d have to be a current player with 10 seasons under your belt to even be qualified for this list.

Brady and Otto Graham would be my two QBs personally.
