Oh please...  😂

Yeah, he has a point. 5 sb losses. Then to win with the help of cap relief as it was done is bs. As a GM he had one sb win and one loss. So i hope Mahomes has a better career stats and such but even better in the SB department for wins.

The HC/QB relationship is so important. I wonder if an old guard, defensive minded coach like Fangio is the right person to develop young Lock.😶

Maybe not but they are going to start showing age here soon on the defense. Will Lock be able to lean on the offense in the future if he proves to be legit? How is the cap space looking for Broncos? That RT signing they did and paid so much for looks like shit when their own FA left in droves.

It would be best if Clark just sits this one out and hopefully, the Chiefs don't need him.  The right side of the Donks line is weak and Jones + Okafor should exploit it while Kpass mans the other side.  If the Chiefs need Clark to put pressure on Lock, they're having a bad game.

Clark played limited snaps last week and was effective! Chiefs need him and need a win. The Donks wont be a roll over. No reason to sit anyone at this point. All hands on deck.

Okay, I'd agree with making him active but not playing him unless it becomes obvious he's needed.  That's what I meant with sitting him out.

He needs to play if he is good to go. Just like last week. Its a stomach thing or illness not a physical injury. I think Reid will let him play if he is ready. He is obviously needed.

I don't think the Chiefs are looking past Denver.

Honey Badger don't care for letdowns. In 2015, the Arizona Cardinals, sitting at 4-1, casually went through a week of practice as they were set to face the Steelerswithout Ben Roethlisberger. They would be facing Landry Jones, who had yet to throw an NFL pass.

"We walked through that week just expecting to win," Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu, who was on that Cardinals team, told me.

Jones threw two touchdown passes and finished with a 149.3 passer rating. The highest of his career.

"We came out, played man, he took his time and went through his reads."

Arizona lost, 25-13.

"After that game, I vowed to never forget it," Mathieu told me.

It's that game that Mathieu has been telling his teammates about this week. He's using it as a reminder to make sure the Chiefs' defense doesn't overlook Broncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock as he makes his third NFL start.

"We're going to respect him," Mathieu said. "He's talented. And if we come out and we don't show up, we know he wants to throw the ball all over the place."

Kansas City's defense has appeared to turn the corner of late. Over the last three games, the Chiefs have given up an average of just 14 points per outing. The recent success is something Mathieu wants to build on come playoff time. He's doing his part as the leader of the defense to try to avoid what happened in Houston last week. The Texans beat the Patriots in Week 13, a signature win for the franchise, then came in unprepared and were embarrassed at home by Lock in his first ever road start in the NFL. The Chiefs beat the Patriots last week, in New England, and you know who is coming to town.

At least the Chiefs have the heads up that Lock's first game gives them.  They know he can play with a lead.  They also have some tape on him.  Expect Reid to be prepared.

Reid’s busy with offense. 😉

Pretty good chance of moderate snow during the game which could neutralize some of our speed advantage even though the field is heated.  If we can continue trend of being better vs run and Clark can continue to play through stomach virus, I expect 4-5 more sacks though.

I like Lock, and he's probably their future at QB.

That being said, Arrowhead has not been kind to rookie QBs.  With Spags dialing up the pressure, Mr. Lock could be in for a long afternoon.

Spags has turned up the heat in recent games. It's gettin fun to watch defense again

If we can find a sideline to sideline LBer and a legit young corner next year, this defense could realistically jump from mid pack to top 5.

If they resign Jones, find a way to keep Ogbah or Okafor, and get  contract with Breeland.  But I agree, that at least we can see a very good defense with a few pieces filled in.

Okafor is under contract through 2021.  I’m not sold Breeland is the corner I’d retain. I still think 24 year old Fuller has the most upside.  But this could go either way. I really think they want a Jones deal done soon. (As do I) But it’s interesting how our offseason would change if I’m wrong and they tag and traded him.

Could he realistically command a pair of first round picks ?  It’d suck to lose him, but if the return could plug multiple holes with multi year solutions, it’d be tough to walk away from.

Clark commanded a 1 and 2. He has more consistent numbers against the run and the pass for his career. Jones is an inconsistent run defender and has 1 monster season that happened to be last yr rather than this one.

I think we will be lucky to get a first for him. He is a beast but I just dont see that kind of haul coming.

Plus Seattle got a very late first and what will be a very late second for Clark.  Trade value chart we basically gave up the 17th-18th pick for Clark.  That’s probably the max for Jones although I’m sure Veach has privately made calls to gage interest. I expect us to keep him. Maybe 75-25.

My concern is Pat’s gimpy hand.  He had issues gripping the ball last week and wet conditions could cause even more issues.  If that happens, and we can’t run the ball, it could be a dissapointing game.

Chiefs DE Frank Clark (questionable, illness, shoulder) is expected to play Week 15 against the Broncos.

Clark missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday while battling an illness that required him to visit a stomach specialist. Despite this, Clark plans on suiting up for Sunday's divisional showdown with Denver. The ex-Seahawk has largely disappointed in his debut season with Kansas City, recording just six sacks over 576 defensive snaps while grading as PFF's No. 39 4-3 defensive end out of 58 positional qualifiers.

He's not THAT bad against the run.  They'd easily get a 1st and a 3rd IMO.  Similar to Jared Allen trade.
