Suggs totaled 5.5 sacks and seven QB hits in 13 games this season. The potential future hall-of-famer has racked up 138 sacks since entering the league back in 2003. Not possible because they probably both will get snatched up off the waiver wire but both would help our team. Suggs with his veteran presence opposite Clark.......would be nice in the playoffs. The news isn't particularly surprising. Suggs didn't appear to have a ton of juice left, but he could certainly still contribute in spurts on a well-rounded defense like the Ravens. 2019 was the first season of Suggs' career playing anywhere other than Baltimore, where he spent the first 16 seasons of his career. That way if he doesn't play for who ever claims him then he doesn't play for anyone. After a certain point in the season, no veteran player is protected as a free agent(I want to say week 12) and must be subjected to waivers. I think it’s for reasons kind of like this. Players demand a release at the end of the year so they can hop on to the playoff team of their choice.
