Maybe Suggs is more of a need now....

I think this was more of a claim to keep him from rejoining the Ravens than it was about the Chiefs needing him.  He's likely pissed because he knows this and wanted to go back to Baltimore.  Smart move by the Chiefs.

This is interesting: Four teams attempted to claim pass-rusher Terrell Suggs — #SaintsNFL_Clubs_2019_2020_Emojis_NewOrleansSai, #49ers, #SeahawksNFL_Clubs_2019_2020_Emojis_SeattleSeahaw, and #Chiefs. And the #Ravens may have signed him if he was free.

For their part, the Chiefs apparently put in a claim and were awarded Suggs in the waiver order. Fortunately for Kansas City, Suggs made it clear pretty quickly that he would report to the team after all, per Nate Taylor of The Athletic.

The addition of Suggs comes at an ideal time for a team that just lost two of its best overall pass rushers in recent weeks. Defensive end Alex Okafor found out on Monday that he will miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, and pass rusher Emmanual Ogbah went down with the same a few weeks ago.

Suggs had 5.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles for the Cardinals in 13 starts this year

Solid. Wonder what his snap count was. He may look real good with all the attention on jones and Clark!

Time for K Pass to put on the big boy pants. He's been here yet we went out and got 2 others to start in his place. He needs to step up especially with Clark starting to get a lot of attention on the other side.

He has already stepped up.  He has been too important on ST's to get the snaps on D. The plan was for him to continue building his skills as a ST ace.  He is ready now to be the guy at DE and impresses me every time I see him. So, basically, I don't understand the "big boy pants" comment.  Have you been watching him?  Believe me, if the coaching staff thinks they need him to start on D, they will do it.

Good news. Couldn’t have asked for a better replacement at this point in the year

Big boy pants may be a little too harsh.

It's an age-old formula for good teams to fill in for injured players with established and experienced stars at the ends of their careers in preparation for a late title run.  I have no idea what Suggs has left in the tank.  Problably what Shady has left in the tank....not much.  But the whole point is to have guys who don't make rookie mistakes and who show up in the spot they are supposed to be in during a play.  That's about all we can expect. At this moment of their fading twilight, we might even get an encore play or two, and it could make all the difference. Bon voyage to both of them.

This could be a really good move by KC.  Suggs has played well this year and with Kpass, the Chiefs only need him to play 20-30 naps/game.  Suggs is good against the run and can box in his end better than most DEs.  Clark, Jones, Nnadi, Suggs with Kpass, Saunders, and X.Williams in the wings is pretty strong.

Suggs is clearly gonna need to produce in spurts and not counted on full time. He had a 7 tackle, 2 TFL, 1/2 sack, 1 QB bit game last month. So he can still play a little bit.

I'd imagine his role will be 4th quarter pass rush specialist in the playoffs.  Beyond that I expect sporadic spot duty.

I think his role will be immediate , playing 10+ snaps per game. Chiefs have injury and he is a good third down pass rush option in that rotation.

In 13 games for Arizona this season, Suggs compiled 37 tackles (23 solo), eight tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits and 5.5 sacks. He also forced four fumbles, recovering one. He has played both outside linebacker and defensive end during his NFL career.

I’d think Spags is dreaming of his perfect NASCAR formation with Suggs on the team.

Yup. Strahan was about 36 in his final year with the Giants when they won in 07 against the undefeated Pats. Spags had him destroying it. Suggs will look good in red again.
