Not saying someone can not do a good job. Im sure KC is more confident with Mahomes vs Moore going into the big game. Thornhill allowed Matheui to take more risks and move all over the place. Chiefs D is weaker now. Not saying KC still wont win....but next man up is more a cliche than reality.

Sounds so simple, but reality is far different. There are positions where there is a massive talent dropoff on every roster including the Chiefs. There's a reason he and Mathieu have played more snaps on defense than anyone else. It is what it is, they have do deal with it. Its a concern though especially are seeing how poor our safety play was last year. Again its possible we found some help there with Fuller just in time. Now Watts will have to elevate his play in some capacity as well. We will see.

Anyone who knows anything about Andy Reid had to realize he'd create a workable game plan for Moore. I'd have zero confidence in winning playoff games though. Next man up would be a MASSIVE talent dropoff. And it doesn't mean Moore shouldn't be on roster. Its just reality.

A lot easier to disguise coverages when you know both of your safeties can hold up in man coverage. It's why I like what they are trying to do with Fuller. Calichief 3,016
Fuller is very intelligent. He’s healthy. Knows all the positions. Is only 24. Has fresh legs. Was by all accounts a standout dB when he signed. the chiefs are ok. DefensiveMan
DefensiveMan 758
We'll be fine. Fuller to man deep FS, has smarts, range , and closing speed and more of a sure tackler than Thornhill. Thorny is good but don't forget he misses tackles from time to time. I would expect Watts to play close to the line more of HB role before he moved to slot corner. Sprinkle in a healthier Claiborne and Fenton and we'll be rolling. Spags will get this thing figured out. FANATIC
Balto 723
Heck we are paying almost $7M in dead cap money for Berry this year so he might as well come back for minimum.
