That would be a real fleecing. I love Veach now, but if he pulled that off...whew! 😀 Damn. I was heading out the door when I posted it. Should of proofread better. Homerun offseason. Although I think they need to draft another TE who can be a weapon in the passing game eventually. Kelce has had outstanding durability, but hes not getting younger and if he missed any significant amount of time it would change the dynamics of our offense markedly. Maybe that 5th rounder could be used for a developmental TE. But honestly, the trades you are proposing are exactly the type we need. When you have the NFLs most expensive player on the books, you need as many stud players on rookie deals as possible. We lose that interior pass rush with Jones here, but we add so much depth in other areas it more than makes up for it.
kkuenn 3,597
I would look for in the 4th or 5th possibly, Ojumedia who is a CB and can even fill in S role too. TE if not drafted I believe will come from a teams post camp cuts. This is like our 2nd draft of sorts with Veach when practice squads are announced and cuts are completed. Bredeson is a power guard and does not fit our zone scheme. Okwara to me only works as either a situational pass rusher or maybe even a shift to strongside linebacker. Strowbridge same as Okwara but might work with a move to end. Loki Fotu or Jordan Elliott might be available in that slot as well, but I guess maybe I'm dreaming there. Both probably gone in 3rd. Tanner Muse at the end of 5 would be outright theft. First 3 picks are home runs. Gibson would be sick in our offense after a year of learning, but people do need to understand he'll need a lot if work. Can be a gadget player in the meantime. I see him as a slot though and you have him as a RB. Intentional?

Probably better suited to a gap/power system. He does turn his hips well and can develop into what Reid likes. Okwara is a rotational guy who will play on 3rd down. Strowbridge, same thing. They both can pin their ears back in the wide 9 and get after the QB. Gibson is a gadget guy, absolutely. But, man, what Reid could do with him. He is a hybrid, but I think he will make the team as a running back. If he can develop, he could be a lot like Deebo Samuel. Line up anywhere. jetlord 10,207
The trades and the first three picks are exactly what I've been mocking for the past two months. If the Chiefs can get Queen or even Murray in the first round, then trading down and still getting their favorite CB in the early second would be gold. There should be choices other than Hennesey at the end of the second. Not sure how the Chiefs might have the IOL prospects stacked.

Yeah I'm all aboard the Gibson train but probably at least year 2 before I'd trust him with significant reps in the backfield. Not a big deal to me since he has so many ways to contribute. I do think he could be elite in the slot. I would worry about spending a 3rd and a 4th on situational players, but I guess if I had to pick a guy for a situational role it would be pass rusher. I would look at someone like Jordan Elliott in the 3rd. Maybe another off ball LB in the 4th like Logan Wilson at SLB or Joe Bachie if we want a run stuffer. Don’t know if he drops that far. Saunders and DOD were 3s. Situational players.

I like Wilson so you're probably right. Hoping he drops due to small school + good day 2 draft. I did not consider Saunders a situational player, and I'm still not sure what situation is right for DOD lol.
