A low-end WR I quietly like is Chester Rogers. He's nothing more than a slot option and return specialist, but he's productive in that role. I think he'd have more receptions in an offense like KC's.

If we don't bring back Sammy Watkins then we need to invest in one via the draft and a veteran flier.   To be honest, I'm not as high as many of you are on Mecole Hardman.   He's a talented player but he can't be trusted just yet to handle the load of #2.   Nothing this year really proved that.  He's a deep threat and a very good gadget player but he hasn't shown consistently he can beat man coverage or get open in crunch time.   I feel Pringle is in the same boat.   One injury to Hill or Kelce (without Watkins) could be costly for a team with back to back aspirations.

What makes you think he can’t handle the 3rd/4th option role?

he was excellent when he was on the field. His chances were very limited.

Algholor is dog shite. Of the names thrown around here im more on the albert wilson or marquise goodwin side. Honestly the free agent wr list is thin, maybe a team could grab randall cobb or kendrick bourne cheap, but i would draft wrs this season or wait for some camp cap casualties cuts. Maybe we could take a flier in free agency on headcase robby anderson on a 1 year deal. Keelan cole is slightly interesting also.

Cobb still plays football? Thought he was on permanent disability.

I think they will restructure and extend Sammy Watkins... Dude has plenty of money and now is probably thinking about rings... Here in KC he has a QB and HC that will achieve that...

The draft is deep in WR's, so there will be a late draft pick or FA that can help fill the back end of the WR rotation...

If they are looking for skill players, finding a TE to complement Kelce would be bigger need than WR in my opinion...

IOL, LB's and corners should be the focus in the draft...

Rare for a rookie receiver to be productive in Reids offense their first year. The fact he was shows he has a ton of potential. Based on your analogy, whomever we were to draft would prove just as frustrating to you based on the complexity of the scheme to learn. But I still think we need to draft a sure handed big possession type receiver regardless .

I'm thinking we pick up Dez on a 1 year prove it deal. Sammy will be gone.

I think we would need to do both.  A vet and another guy to develop in the 3-5 range.

Yeah I’m not saying he horrible or can’t be good but it’s a fact he struggled with man coverage all year,  he is not a great route runner at this point and he didn’t do a lot down the stretch.   Again not saying he didn’t have a good year but it’s easier to produce when the third/4th beat DB is guarding you then when the second best is.  Good defenses are going to force our receivers to create separation and his biggest skill is deep speed on longer developing routes.   Mahomes didn’t have time for many of those against a good 49ers D.  How can he help in the short/intermediate arrow where you have to get open with your route running.   My personal opinion is he’s still a year away in that department and as our #2 wr at this point(because I think Sammy is gone) he has to be so why not draft/and bring in some guys to help bridge that gap.   Hope I’m dead wrong and he kills it next year but I have my doubts.  Mahomes covers a multitude of issues.

I'm not a Dez fan, but I'd rather take a flyer on a reclamation project that has the potential for huge reward, as opposed to paying average for average.  The patriots did it with guys like Randy Moss.  I feel like that's where we should be if we're not drafting.

NFL just extended the tag period a couple days due to the CBA voting. Not that it makes any difference with Jones basically a guarantee for the tag but it's just news.

The 30 percent rule basically keeps teams from being able to negotiate even if they don’t want to tag a player.  Seems very likely though the CBA will be approved.

I hope this has nothing to do with football. If he is chasing top dollar I can see the tag and trade for sure. Of course he will go to a team that has a ways to go for competitiveness imo like Cards, Bucs etc.

If the Chiefs pick a RB or WR in the first round, my head will explode.

RB yes cause you don't have to overpay for a top guy there.  I would not be that surprised with a WR though, other than Reid's predilection for big men in the first.  We need another good young WR.  Maybe 2 if we end up with more picks.

I would sure hate to go the way of the packers and have an elite QB with shit talent around him and think he will fix all.

But that won't happen.  Kelce, Hill, Hardman, and a 3rd-5th round possession receiver along with Pringle, Williams, and a fifth wideout will give Mahomes plenty of targets.  The Packers have no lineup of receivers compared to the present day Chiefs.  If the Chiefs pick up several first or second day picks by trading Jones and trading down and an elite receiver falls to them, then go for it, but that's a luxury pick, not a necessity.

Kelce could retire very soon.

Hill might price his way out.

Having a guy like mahomes needs to be priority.  Especially while he is still young.  Green bay took the same thought when they had Cobb, Nelson, Jones,  etc...

I like pringle,  Williams,  and Hardman as much as the next person.  But neither is a #1 WR. And Williams isn't a lead back to move forward with.  Stay on top of the offensive talent
