I didn't realize DAT was still a thing.

How could you?  His own family didn't know he was still playing.  He returned 23 kicks and punts last season for a whopping 210 combined yards.  I think it's safe to say the Ravens will not be missing his "contribution" to the team.

Maybe he is their backup quarterback.

When it comes to COVID, players with acronyms for names are at the biggest risk. First LDT, then DAT. OBJ is on borrowed time. As Chiefs fans we are lucky the Pat never found a good a good acronym. Things like PM2 and MVP were thrown at the wall but none stuck. We can be thankful for that much at least.

A growing list of players with the New England Patriots are putting safety first and opting out of the 2020 NFL season.

Three-time Super Bowl champion Dont'a Hightower and long-time tackle Marcus Cannon both confirmed on Tuesday they wouldn't play this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Marcus Cannon, a 32-year-old tackle with two Super Bowl wins under his belt, also chose to opt out due to him having a high risk due to preexisting medical conditions, his agent told CNN.

Patrick Chung, the team's starting safety, told ESPN.com's Mike Reiss he'd opt out as well.

The three players join running backs Brandon Bolden and Danny Vitale, as well as offensive linemen Najee Toran in sitting this one out, according to ESPN, meaning the Patriots account for approximately one-third of all players who have said they would opt out.

Maybe Bill's master plan to tank for Trevor Lawrence.

Belichick has a master plan.  First, he's gonna get everyone to opt out so he can tank for Trevor Lawrence.  Then he's gonna roll all that cap over to 2021 so that while everyone else is struggling with the lowered cap he's gonna be open for business.  The man always wins...
