KC Warpaint 3,234
#49ers are signing All-Pro TE George Kittle to a 6-year, $94.8 million [$15.8 million per season] contract extension according to @SInow He'll get 50% of the contract guaranteed [$47.4 million] and a $25 million signing bonus
reesebobby 5,663
There's only so many new deals to go around. Especially with the new salary cap numbers. And his age. We really need to look hard at a new version of Kelce in the draft. Hate to see him go and I hope they can work something out, but that's gonna be a tough one. Adamixoye 604
Patrick and Travis legitimately seem like really great friends on and off the field. I'm sure Travis knows he has it great here. We're going to lose great players eventually. But I'd like to think we'll find a way to keep Travis for a while. I really hope he retires a Chief. xen 1,010,220
He's got 2 years left. I would think we could bridge the gap a little but dont see much urgency to do anything right now. Yeesh kittle got almost double Kelce's total contract value. oldtimer
Balto 723
Kelce could get pretty close to Tony G numbers if he sticks it out in KC for less money. Guess we will find out
sith13 1,746
I doubt it unless they want to clear some cap space. You don't give a new deal to a 30-year old guy with micro-fracture surgery in his past. I think they look to extend him next year.
jetlord 10,209
Agree with Sith. A two year extension would be the maximum and maybe Kelce would go for it at a fair rate out of playing with Mahomes and the chance to win it all again. The Chiefs have passed on TE in the last two drafts that were pretty rich in prospects and have absolutely no one that can replace Kelce even at a lower level. Gotta address that soon. sith13 and oldtimer 1

Balto 723
Reading that its at least a 4 year add on to his 2 years left. Meaning he will be in KC at least 6 more years! Not bad
kkuenn 3,597
Well he will be 36 then? Need to get a TE to groom and back him up next 2 or 3 years from now for sure. One now would be great to learn for 3 or 4 years then sign him to an extension as Kelce declines.
oldtimer 8,686
looking forward to seeing the numbers and when it will make him cutable if he declines rapidly or a new TE shows some stardom
Balto 723
You all think he will last another 10 years in the NFL and end up playing as long as Tony and some other TEs?

Balto 723
Looks like a 4 year @ $57M extension So basically giving him a 6 year deal with a $13.2M average. Not bad

Well Kelce's new contract won't do anything to this or next years cap number. So LDT's money is still on the table

Chiefmanzada 466
Think we need to come to terms that Kelce is a one of a kind TE. HoF bound. Will pass TG#88 as greatest Chiefs TE if he hasn't already.

He had almost 1200 yards one season with Damon Huard at the helm. oldtimer
