Announcers kept talking about how Gruden loves Andy Reid but hates the Chiefs, and would give anything for the win. They obviously wanted it more that the Chiefs did. But when you can't stop an avg/above avg. offense on 3rd and 18 then its gonna be hard to win the game. The D did give our O plenty of chances at the beginning of the 2nd half to take control. Our poor play finally caught up with us and Mahomes didn't have time to get us back. But again his almost pick 6 didn't help either. Oh well on to next game. You have to be able to run the ball to keep them honest. We can't do that either. Gonna be along back half of the season if we can't start running on 3 and 4 man fronts. The absolute biggest problem for the defense is interior Dline and LBs against the run. Smash mouth running games cause all sorts of problems. The pass rush was craptacular today too. Danna looked like he had some upside as a DE, so that loss hurt. And yes Sorenson is a backup masquerading as a starter. Tedric Thompson needs to start getting some of his reps.. We've been able to get pressure up front with just our d-line up to this point, and it makes our blitzes even more effective. But today they didn't. And when they did blitz they weren't getting home. Safety play stunk. Miscommunication all over the place on the back end. Just a total faceplant on that side. Having said that I think our defense will rebound. The really big concern here is that our offensive line has played like shit 3 out of 5 games. We lost our only good interior lineman today. Plus our tackles, which have typically been our strength, have both struggled this year. Yasir Durant, Martinas Rankin (when ready), Nick Allegretti...everyone of these guys needs to be rotating in with the ones in practice. This line sucks. And its even gotten in Mahomes head a bit, which is really hard to do. Buffalo is super physical in the trenches. This will be a real gut check. Coupled with how poorly we played last week and our oline's inability to run or pass block and our lb corp inability to stop the run and we have some huge issues that seem unlikely to be completely fixed until the offseason. A non-call on a pass interference. Clark and Jones didn't show up. Sorenson was terrible. The team lost their only run able O-lineman. Ward had a bad game. Watson being out was a lost threat. The backup TE can't catch. Then give the Raiders credit. They played solid, had a good game plan, and got a few breaks. They deserved to win. The question is whether the Chiefs can fix the problems or have they just been exposed? We'll find out then they play a very good Bills team. Chiefs and Reid need to learn to beat 4 or less rush. o line as many said is hot garbage right now. They need to give time. Ried and Mahomes need to sink and dunk. Play frickin Alex smith ball because that’s what’s there. Ried and Mahomes have to smarten up. Remember when teams played man and we had to figure out how to beat it?
