Well the "merger" was in Super Bowl V - it's just one additional AFL championship in addition to the Super Bowl years. The 3 AFL Championships were one as the Dallas Texans, and then Super Bowls I and IV. I don't think you can double count the championship (AFL + NFL) from the Super Bowl IV year.
