But that's the point, he's getting snaps as his role in the nickel and dime. He's the third safety, which was exactly my point about using him situationally. He can't keep up with TE or RB. He sure as fuck can't cover a slot WR. I haven't read about any specific offers but expected him to leave some money on the table for a team like Packers or Bills over a definite long shot. Up to this year neither missed serious time with injuries and Niang looks like he was drafted to be a future starter. So 2020 may have just been a bad luck in terms of management, I don't think it lingers to 2021. Normally entering a season with the best RT in the NFL at age 30 and a decent LT at age 29 with a 3rd round pick hanging around as the swing tackle isn't a bad option.
