Maybe not a starter, but he got  high percentage of snaps since the Chiefs were in the nickel or dime most of the time.

2nd in DB snap counts only to the Badger ..now how does that qualify as a "starter"?

Badger 979

Dirty Dan 879

Fun fact other than the Badger , MVPat and Kelce he played the most snaps//put that in your pipe and smoke it

Yeah, by definition, Gay was a starter and Sorenson wasn't.

But that's the point, he's getting snaps as his role in the nickel and dime.  He's the third safety, which was exactly my point about using him situationally.  The results are better when you're not asking him to be Eric Berry.

He can't defend the run. He can't keep up with TE or RB. He sure as fuck can't cover a slot WR.

The guy will suck balls for 3 and a half quarters, then he will intercept a pass while they are in a 2 deep zone at the end of the game that was underthrown by 6 yards, and all of a sudden he's a fucking hero.

announced he's going to the Cradinals

The Arizona Cardinals got a major boost to their defensive line Monday with J.J. Watt announcing he was signing with the team.

Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, it's a two-year deal worth $31 million, with $23 million guaranteed.

Just about to post this too. Good God I am glad we did not sign him for this amount. Guess he won't be expecting a ring after all.

Definitely time to up grade his spot.  Especially if we are paying as much a we do.

After making so much money surprised to see him choose Arizona. I haven't read about any specific offers but expected him to leave some money on the table for a team like Packers or Bills over a definite long shot.

maybe he doesn't like the Cold

That's a crazy salary for a guy on the wrong side of 30 who will probably only play 10 games if he's lucky with all of his injuries.  If that was the going rate, then the Chiefs dodged a big bullet.

Think about the salary we have tied up in an injury prone WR.

Or two aging tackles with major injuries

you have a point on Watkins.. the 2 injuries to  the tackles is just bad luck..not much  you can do to prevent that but  what is preventable is have no  quality depth .. thats on Veach

No doubt it was bad luck.  But if we are relying on them to be back week 1 and play a whole season at a high level.... well.....

Especially at the price we would pay for this.

Up to this year neither missed serious time with injuries and Niang looks like he was drafted to be a future starter. So 2020 may have just been a bad luck in terms of management, I don't think it lingers to 2021.

Normally entering a season with the best RT in the NFL at age 30 and a decent LT at age 29 with a 3rd round pick hanging around as the swing tackle isn't a bad option. Obviously would have and should have gone a different route with earlier picks after what we know but that's just hindsight.
