Saw somewhere market value for Reiter could be close to 10 million....I was thinking I pity the fool that signs him for half that much.   How ironic would it be that Mahomes makes Reiter appear good enough that we could potentially earn a comp pick for his play.    If that happens Mahomes is with out a doubt a master wizard!

That is a lot of money for the stay puft marshmallow man...

I agree.  I would do a second rounder and Saunders and Ward for armstead and a4th rounder

Saunders is a mystery. Chiefs know what they see but he looked to be coming along until his injury. Maybe we include him and go after another DT in the draft though. 🤔

That sounds like something dumbass Dorsey would've done.  Any GM that gives Reiter that kind of money will be out of a job in a couple of years, if not sooner.

Whatever his extension or new contract stipulates. He's a free agent.

That's the problem, as I see it.  The Chiefs need to develop a young line with some starters on rookie contracts.  They can get by with a one year deal while getting a top draft choice up to speed, but they can't afford FAs on multi year deals.  Kicking the can down the road, while possible this year, can't last forever.  Armstead for this year at $11 million might make sense.  If they're going to keep Mahomes, Hill, Kelce, Jones, and HB down the road while giving contracts to Thornhill and eventually CEH and Sneed, they have to look ahead.  They can get an above average OC in FA much heaper than an OT.  So why not get a one year tackle while drafting one for the future and spend the lesser amount on center.  Then Niang is the only rookie starting on the line this year and hopefully the rookie tackle will be ready for 2022.

AS THEY LOOK TO REPLACE SAMMY WATKINS, COULD THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS TURN TO T.Y. HILTON?

T.Y. Hilton, Chiefs, NFL Free Agency, Colts NFL Analysis Network

T.Y. Hilton has spent his first nine NFL seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He’s also a free agent, and it feels like not much more than a coin flip’s chance the Colts will re-sign him. With his career closer to the end than the beginning, finding a team with a legit chance to win a Super Bowl is a sure priority.

Sheil Kapadia of The Athletic has made some free agency predictions. He has predicted the Kansas City Chiefs to sign Hilton.

The Chiefs have arguably the league’s best tight end in Travis Kelce, and one of the top wide receivers in the league in Tyreek Hill. But after that it gets pretty thin for proven weapons, even as the singular brilliance of Patrick Mahomes raises everyone’s floor.

The Chiefs restructured Sammy Watkins’ contract last offseason to keep him around. Now a free agent himself, coming off another injury-riddled season, he seems sure to be gone. Mecole Hardman could step into a bigger role, but he’s got a lot to prove. Further down the depth chart is not especially exciting (Demarcus Robinson-who’s a free agent too, Byron Pringle).

In 15 games last season, Hilton had 56 catches for 762 yards and five touchdowns. All of those numbers would have been third on the Chiefs, behind Kelce and Hill. The yardage especially so, with Hardman coming in at 560 yards for the third-best total on the team. When defenses were able to take away or minimize Kelce and Hill last season, the Chiefs’ offense was rendered mortal rather quickly.

Spotrac has given Hilton a market value of $10.1 million a year. Actually getting that on the open market is another story. To say nothing of the three-year deal Spotrac also tabs for him. With a lower salary cap, and what’s still a deep class of free agent wide receivers, Hilton is the type of veteran who will get squeezed financially.

That money squeeze could lead Hilton back to the Colts, if they want him back. Or, a team like the Chiefs that’s looking for a reliable veteran receiver could enter the mix. If Hilton wants to chase a ring, Kansas City is the No. 1 spot to do it.

Linsley seems like a guy that could work out for the next 2-3 years so he might be a decent FA addition at OC for much cheaper than what it would cost to get a long term OT. A stopgap LT + a guy like Linsley who won't cost much this year + LT of the future in 1st + a decent OG on the second day would actually fix the line quite a bit while minimizing the cost.

The Los Angeles Chargers announced the release of cornerback Casey Hayward on Saturday.

Upon parting ways with Hayward, Chargers general manager Tom Telesco released the following statement in which he thanked the two-time Pro Bowler:

By releasing Hayward, who had one year remaining on his contract, the Chargers will save $9.75 million against the salary cap in 2021, per Spotrac.

T.Y. Hilton on a 3-year deal north of 10 million annually is insane. He hasn't really been a threat in the last couple years and already 32. That would be a huge waste of money for any GM, so may be he goes to Houston but that's probably it.

That's exactly how I see it with the addition that the IOL pick on the second should be one which can play OC or OG equally well.  That might leave out a few who are strictly one position specialists.

A 32 year old who sat out last year and hasn't had a healthy season in over 4 years.  I would pass on him and not sirens any money on him at all

You've been complaining about LDT ever since we heard he was planning on returning. Now they are bringing in a 3 time pro bowler for a visit and you don't like that either. He took a year off to get healthy.

I cant imagine they are gonna sirens much money on him if he does make it to KC for his visit.
