2(44) - Creed Humphrey C Oklahoma

KC trades pick 31 to Dallas for picks 44 and 99.  Humphrey finished college with 36 straight starts.  High IQ Center, competitive, powerful, good hand usage.  Day one starter and huge upgrade over what we have had there since Morse left.  Snaps left handed.

2(63) - Amon-Ra St. Brown WR USC

If Watkins is not re-signed, Amon-Ra can eventually step into that role.  Smart tough, versatile receiver who can go across the middle or beat you deep.  Wins on the contested catches.  

3(94) - Hamsah Nasirildeen S Florida State

Sorenson replacement.  Big safety.  Dime backer, nickel safety.  Versatile, experienced playing in the box, in the slot, or as a single high.  Chance to start in nickel on day one.

3(99) - Walker Little OT Stanford

Hasn't played since 9-19.  Athletic tackle who is best at pass pro.  Competes in the run game, but needs some work.  If he develops, he could take over in a year or two at LT after either Fisher is gone or a stopgap tackle leaves.  Could be a steal here if Kiper's dumb ass is right about him.

4(136) - Adetokunbo Ogundeji EDGE Notre Dame

Developmental EDGE.  Has all of the tools, just needs time to put it all together.  Could bulk up and be used as a rotational interior pass rusher also.  

4(144) - Shakur Brown CB Michigan State

Sticky cover corner.  High ceiling.  Very inexperienced and makes mistakes to prove it.  Will need time, but has the talent to contribute early.

5(176) - Khyiris Tonga DT BYU

Big bodied, space filler.  Early down run stuffer.  Zero pass rush.  Could develop into a Pennel type of tackle.

5(180) - Cornell Powell WR Clemson

Could be a sleeper in the draft.  Barely used until last year, but showed skills when he got his chance.  Could rise up the board after testing and might not be here.

7(252) - Robert Rochell CB Central Arkansas

Small school, developmental corner/safety.

Well that would be a home run. 

Another WR at 63 to consider is Nico Collins.  Veach loves him some athletic freaks that need to be coached up.  Might need to trade back up a hair but man would he be an upgrade at X and in the red zone.

Finding a potential above avg LT in the 4th round would be pretty amazing.   Plug and play OC is a must and found a WR and S replacement for Watkins and Sorensen.   I think that 3rd safety hybrid position is far more important than a lot would consider imo.   If he's the player many think he can be we found a player in the 3rd too.   

I like Landon as a overall prospect better but I doubt he's there at 44 and the injury concerns are real

On the Friday edition of the Arrowhead Pride Laboratory, we dissected Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach’s comments about the offseason and upcoming draft class to create a 2021 mock draft.

Here’s what we came up with:

31. OT Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame

The comment from Veach in his press conferences was later repeated almost verbatim by him on “Fescoe in the Morning” on 610 Sports Radio the next day. That sounds like a man who doesn’t think he can wait to address the offensive line.

If the tackles are flying off the board, Liam Eichenberg is a fine consolation prize. He doesn’t possess an immense ceiling athletically or developmentally, but he’s probably the most NFL-ready tackle entering the draft. If you believe the aggressive timeline on Eric Fisher’s return from an Achilles injury, this is merely giving Eichenberg a year to develop. If you believe Veach started to hedge toward the end of the conversation, the Notre Dame prospect can step in and force a returning Fisher to supplant him from the starting lineup. If he plays well, he’s the present and future at the position.

63. TE Tommy Tremble, Notre Dame

Back-to-back Fighting Irish? We’re going to make a very niche subset of Chiefs fans in Northern Indiana very happy. Veach mentioned getting a tight end behind Travis Kelce — and with the Thursday retirement of fullback Anthony Sherman, the Chiefs should look at Tommy Tremble to help solve multiple problems. Tremble is a young, promising athlete with upside to develop at tight end. He didn’t see many targets at Notre Dame but showed natural hands, good linear speed and some promise snapping off routes. What is most intriguing about him is as a blocker. He can line up inline, in the backfield and deliver devastating blocks. He’s a versatile piece that should only get better — he will only be 20 years old on draft weekend.

94. IOL David Moore, Grambling State

Veach singled out the cornerback class multiple times — both in his presser and on 610 — as a strong position in this draft class through rounds one through four. If we’re taking that at face value, you could see the Chiefs perhaps try and identify a cornerback here. We see them addressing the interior of their offensive line with a potential long-term solution at center — David Moore from Grambling. Put the ball in his hands and his tape is just different — standing out at the Senior Bowl with an excellent performance.
