If he stays healthy, you got a good one.

People are tweeting video about how he was valuable to Mahomes in the scramble drill, always shaking free and working back to the LOS. If he can stay healthy, LJ8 won't have to just take off when the pocket collapses.

But will he keep scanning to throw?

LJ has never really had a reliable underneath presence. But there are plays where he sees 30 yds of green and just scoots. For as elusive as he is, he took 29 sacks last year. A lot of that was the loss of Stanley at LT and the weakness at C, RG and RT (since Brown moved over to LT).

Baltimore fans have every excuse in the book for Jackson.

No underneath presence?

Mark Andrews?

Hayden Hurst? Goes to Atlanta and has more catches,  yards,  and TDs than his previous 2 years in Baltimore.

Those are good TEs too run underneath routes.

They drafted a 6'4" 220 lb WR in Boykin.

At what point do Raven fans stop blaming everyone else and start looking at their WR trying to play QB?

Exactly. Blame the OC for implementing a basic passing game where seams and fades are the norm haha. Yet...turn around and blame the WR's for not getting open

Says the guy who never watches any other games except his own teams

Andrews stretches the field like Kelce does

Hurst wanted out because they don't throw the ball as much- he was drafted when Flacco was the starting QB, not LJ

Boykin has not been a reliable target.

Huh... how you know?

And keep covering for your WR/QB. It's everyone else fault. We get it raven's fan.

lol bmore doesn't have an underneath presence.  That's rich.  What they don't have is a qb that can throw the ball.  Agree, just more excuses for LJ.

Because the offense doesn't throw for 5,000 yds it means he can't pass?

Last time I check, points win games, not yards.

If your goal is to win regular season games by all means.

If your goal is to win championships you have to go toe to toe with teams with great passing games.

Yes and no. When you score 42 against a bad team and only 14 against a good team...... I mean some of the competition last year you put up mad points against were very bad teams.

If Sammy could stay healthy he would be a great receiver.  He may be nutty as a loondog but the guy has tons of talent, plays hard and does all the little things very well.  Great routes too.  But man that guy is made of glass.

Trent Dilfer was elite?

Rob Johnson was elite?

Eli Manning was elite?

Peyton Manning, when he won with Denver, was elite?

Thanks for telling me Joe Flacco was elite.

Peyton was always elite, he no longer had the arm strength but an elite QB doesn't always need an elite arm to win as he showed. The rest are basically exceptions which are always possible, when the rest of the team is great some QBs can win the SB but that doesn't change the generalization that you need an elite QB to win as that's the most likely scenario. Keep in mind that Garoppolo was very close to winning one in 2020 and Brady almost lost to the Washington QB nobody ever heard of on his way, etc.

I think Flacco was another product of a solid team. He didn't throw interceptions because the team didn't have to rely on him to get out of some tough situations. He's still better than Cassel or Croyle but there were quite a few QBs that are much better than Flacco without a SB win. Realistically I would say Flacco is better than any past Chiefs QB of this millenium other than Green and may be Smith, but he's definitely not an elite QB.

LJ is a weird case, he's a great athlete but not sure about him as a QB. Can't rely on his arm to dig a team out of a hole or even trust his athleticism against a solid defense when it really matters. He can win games as he has proven with a decent team around him but when he has to actually lead a team LJ seems to turn into Cassel. That being said I think he deserves to be the highest paid QB of all time, should get more than Mahomes.
