Devito and DJ both done for the year

Berry, struggles in coverage. Him and Abdullah are both one in the same. Solid open field tacklers , close on the ball quick, yet lack vital cover skills especially in space.

Eric Berry ranked 14th of 57 safeties , regardless of position playing 60% of their team's snaps in catch percentage.   That puts him in the 89th percentile.  He does not struggle in coverage.  Folks here remember a few bad performances a few years ago.  Its simply no longer the case.

Mongo, rewind the tape on TN's first TD. Berry, leaves his responsibility steps up on the short route (thinking it was going to be dumped out to McCluster in the flat) thus leaving a wide open lane for Locker to lob it over the top for the TD.

Your math seems off.  Could you explain how you got the 89th percentile.

Based on A, B, C, D and E grading.  The 28th safety would be in the middle of the pack -- average, C grade, 75%.  Berry's rank grades him at 77% by pure percentage, but places him firmly in the upper portion of the B group on that stat.

I disagree.  He gives him up to Sean Smith, oddly enough, who was responsible for Walker over the top.  Berry was assigned to do just as he did.  Cover DMC. Had he not, Locker would have dumped off to him.

Guest Mongo for next KC coach

Mongo, how do you know what (every) players responsibility was on the play? Honestly? Without being in the huddle & watching film your not going to be able to tell where the break down occurred. It could look like one person is getting burned , when they are caught covering for someone else or vise versa. The coverage could have rotated on way, & the offense exploits it....water cooler coordinator.

I can't for certain, but one can't say Berry blew coverage by the same token.  From the endzone view that's what it looked like "Mrs. I Wish I Were As Cool As Mongo"

Tamba was covering out in the flat so don't think Berry was on DMC.

Hali is not on that side.  Houston was.  It looks like Berry might have jumped the DMC route because Houston is not in position to defend the dump off.  Smith has no other coverage responsibility on that side since TEN is in trips right.  Seems to me he should have picked up Walker.

So in other words, Berry's in the 77th percentile.  The rest is just made up BS.

No it isn't.  You've never heard of grading on a curve?  It's hardly bullshit to take the average score (50%) and adjust it to a C for conversation purposes.  Calling a guy average like a 77% would indicate is inappropriate when he's the 12th best player at the stat being considered.

Sounds like you'd rather consider it bullshit because you can't accept Berry isn't as bad in coverage as you'd like to believe.

Grading on a curve doesn't change the percentile rank, unless you introduce subjectivity.  23% of the population still ranks above him.

Fine forget the percentage.  Only 12 players defend the pass better than EB.  Better?.

Like a true coward you hide behind the anonymity of the Internet to hurl insults.  You don't even have the guts to post under an identity of your own.  Griow up, child  You'll might make a fine adult one day.  Until then, run along.  Maybe mommy has some nice ice cream for you.

Whew!  All this time, I thought it was you posting arguments with yourself.  I don't know whether to be relieved or appalled for whoever it is.
