Draft needs now that LT is taken care of.

Recommended Posts

I think chiefs need to grab the following

LB, O line , TE CB WR.
maybe even in that order.
Depends how the board falls but would really like to see another LB that we can have along side Gay.
Pass catching TE with speed is a need. We need to develop Kelce replacement or in the event he gets hurt.

I would be happy with all defense picks. Can find a veteran wide receiver in FA. Pick all defense and you may hit on two or three.

Yeah, that’s my thinking. I would like even more attention to the offensive line, but LB is a real need and the D line could use some help.

who is a LB worth a 2nd round pick? The guy from MIZZOU?

Yes Bolton

Cam McGrone

Jamin Davis

Jabril Cox

Pete Warner

Baron Browning

All day 2 guys

Of course if Zaven Collins falls you should probably smack some fuckers aside and run to the podium.  Won't happen but would be really nice.

Lol no!   He tested like trash and was very unathletic.

Jamin Davis - coverage guy...one of the few who kept up with Kyle Pitts

Jabril Cox - another atheltic do it all

Pete Werner - MLB/SLB

I think the order is OC, LB, TE, WR, CB. Not sure how the draft shapes up but OC and LB are the two priorities IMO, would probably go that way with the 2nds. Even though I think TE is a bigger need and would make a bigger impact than both WR and CB there's no specific order to the 3 positions and it all depends on whomever is available.

Order of need for me is:

1. -DE- We need this position upgraded now and so we can get out of Clark's contract after this yr or next depending on how much dead cap they are willing to eat.

2A. and 2B. -WR/TE-  I think an upgrade at either one of these spots could have an equal impact on our offense.

3. -LB- Our LB corps is probably the worst in the NFL, and we are an injury away from needing Ben Niemann to play meaningful snaps.

4. -Nickel CB-  Allowing Sneed to move outside is big for us. That kid can take away teams best WR there.

5A. and 5B. -C/RG- We need future starters here. They are vacant after 2021.

6. -S- We need a better 3rd safety than Dirty Dan, and he's a free agent after the season anyway.

Let's say only our 2nd round picks end up being worth a damn this year. What 2 positions are a must have? I lean towards DE & WR, I think we sign Breeland again and our CB stable is solid again.  I think between Blythe and the odd man out at RG we find a serviceable center. But DE is questionable and WR takes time to develop, so sooner we get one in the system the sooner they can thrive.

WR and BPA at DE, LB, or OC.  If no WR without reaching, any two of the other three would be okay with me.

I really think they use a second on WR. I don’t think they feel like they have 2 starters there and they lean towards weapons on the O side of the ball. On D, DE is another spot I they will go after.  A lb is a definite need, but won’t start. TE is a need but won’t start.

This is about where I'm at.  WR, DE, gap, then a bunch of other stuff... 2nd TE, LB, 3rd safety, LB, OC, OG in no particular order.

I agree with this. I would probably list WR and TE above DE on the list but thats nit picking. I feel like its easier to find serviceable DE in free agency than wide outs or good tight ends.

I don't think TE will be a priority.  They don't seem to care a lot about the depth and the class sucks after Pitts.

They seem to value blocking from the depth Tight Ends and Belldozer fits that role.  None of these rookies block.

Yeah there's some possible tight ends in there but overall not a good tight end class at all after Pitts

The Chiefs are going to find some players after the draft or June 1 and that's where I expect them to get another TE if they're looking for one.  Aside from a #2 WR, most draft choices will be replacements for 2022.  Meinerz could replace Blythe.  CB to replace Ward.  LB to replace Neiman or Hitchens.  S/LB to replace Sorenson.  Maybe a second round DE would get some playing time but would be rotational at best.  So I don't see spending a second on a LB or IOL as a waste just because they won't start from the beginning.

WR then defense.  I'm not really down with the TE being a need.  We have our pass catcher, and we brought back Bell to be the blocking specialist.  I'd prefer to stay within the theme of the offense which is speed and go get a WR as opposed to another TE.

I'm a Domer Homer but that TE from ND sure seemed legit

Yeah.  I have Tremble in a lot of my mocks.  Unfortunately I usually take him in the 3rd.  If we like him, we probably have to take him in the 2nd now.  I highly doubt he's there at 144.

The freshman tight end might be the real deal though.  lol he even looks like Gronk.

I think a lot of people would be singing a different tune if Kelce got injured and that element of our offense was completely taken away. Veach acknowledged that they haven't done a good enough job addressing TE2 a couple months ago. Of course he also said that he expected Schwartz and Fish back healthy by camp in the same Zoom call, and then they were released a few days later, so who knows...

Obviously some risks need to be taken but Kelce is the only legit receiver we have in the middle of the field and there's really nothing at TE besides him. They could always sign a veteran after the draft but I think TE is a legit need. In terms of replacing Kelce there's the need for a youngster with upside but I'm not sure which draft would be the best to address that one.

Regarding the free agents, I think it's much easier to find a decent WR than a decent TE but in the end it's all about who's going to be available in either position.
