most teams select the bottom of the roster with ST play in mind.  That's how modern rosters are constructed.

Special teams should consist of finding a good kicker. After that kick ball through end zone on kickoffs, fair catch punts, take a knee on kickoff returns. Punt rarely with mahomes as the qb. Dont need a third of the roster to do that. Use that third for receivers and corners and athletes who might actually have a chance to contribute

Anyone who thinks Brown isn't gonna be here long term and be paid accordingly is fooling themselves. There is zero question about whether he will be our LT going forward, nor should there be. The only question is if they franchise him or work out a long term deal this offseason.

The fact that there's fans here that would still be willing to let LT become a question mark again due to some early season struggles he had, is insane to me. The dude is a stud.

Personally I would want him to stay. However I wouldn't want the Chiefs to give him something like Williams got last year. We did that to Fisher and never really got the return for our investment. If they want him to stay for the long term I would much rather tag him and earn the contract he'll likely be asking for as opposed to give it to him right away. Do you think Brown is worth more than 15-17 million per year at this point?

He is gonna want 20.  If we can do it for 18 per over 5…..do it.

18 over 5 years would be my limit but I would be more comfortable with something a bit less. Obviously it's all going to depend on the guarantees but we should look to avoid being in a situation where we are not comfortable with the compensation for a guy as critical as the LT.

That’s around 3.6 per year? You can’t get a LT for that.

Gahhhhhhhhh, he plays like a 5-7 mil a year guy though, we can’t just give the dude triple his value because we gave a very small amount of capital to acquire him

What are you seeing that makes you continue with this narrative? He's given up 4 sacks this year. He mauls in the run game. Honestly, what is it about his game you don't like?

Well he earned 6 million over 4 years in his NFL career, I think almost tripling that paycheck should at least create some intrigue 🤔

Not a chance, he'd make more than that shifting back to RT as a pro bowler. His first contract, he's going to be franchised or be at least top 3 paid to move the market. Doesn't help he was voted to pro bowl as a LT regardless if anyone here agrees with that or not. His agents job to move the LT market and get most for his client.

Hard to think he's playing for less than $23M and thats what a franchise tag would cost..might as well get it over with and make it as team friendly as possible

I think you could get it less if you increased the guarantees.  However, his play doesn't warrant that to be honest and I like him.   Look at the guy making 23 and then at Brown.   If we base it off that he would make around 16.  Trent is that good.

His agent should be fired if he takes 16 but  hope your right.

The fact that he gets beat around the edge instantly 90% of the time and the only reason only 4 sacks are allowed is mahomes is houdini back there
