Chiefs signed CB Damon Arnette to a reserve/future contract.

The 2020 mega-bust failed to land a futures deal with the Dolphins after joining the practice squad in December, but one of his former division rivals is giving him a second chance after the Raiders cut him in November. Arnette was waived for posting a disturbing video on social media, but his awful play on the field was why the Raiders were willing to cut ties instead of giving Arnette the second and third chances former first-rounders typically get. Slow (4.56) and extremely old (24) for a first-round corner at the time of his drafting, Arnette's selection was widely first guessed. It is difficult to see him cracking the Chiefs' 53-man roster this summer.

Chargers are almost 70 million under the cap. Chiefs will need a few of these low risk guys to work out. No harm in bringing guys in. I would thing he is on a very short leash.

how long till they need to long term the Qb?

Not stressing over the acquisition but is he really a "low risk, high reward" guy? So far he has shown he is a "low risk, dumpster fire" kind of guy. Until proven otherwise that's what he is.

pretty much ..another rehab by Andy project

I like the strategy though.  Pick up as many of these 1st round busts as you can and hope you can turn a few around.  They all had talent to work with.  We just dropped Josh Jackson from the PS and signed him to a futures contract.  That's Hughes, Baker, Jackson and now Arnette.

I love it. Just like Baker. Big upside with little to no downside.

I think there is a little downside in loading up on low character guys.  We are seeing a little of that this week.  We saw it in the off season with Clark.   We saw it a couple years ago with Tyreek.  And Kareem Hunt.  And Britt Reid.  The Raiders got it this year with Ruggs.  I'm not pissed about it, but you're always one bad night away from losing a player and having a black eye for the organization.

I think we have all come to realize much of the Tyreek  situation was overblown. Yea it might of showed poor judgment in the types of women he was screwing but lack of character I think has been poo poo's away. At least that's my take and not going to  debate it further.

Is Gay's situation really enough to label him "low Character"? As has been pointed out he may have a slight mental health issue but thats in no way Low Character at least not in my book.

if anyone can show me a championship team any sport who was full of soon to be canonized individuals I welcome the example.

I'm not saying Tyreek's thing was not overblown.  But he was extremely fortunate that it didn't result in a suspension.  And here we are the week of the divisional round and Gay is in jail.  Fortunately it was not a Kirby vacuum or we'd be looking at a felony charge.  Hunt's bad night most likely caused us to miss out on a Super Bowl.  He got 8 games for his temper tantrum.  Britt's night may have cost us a 2nd consecutive championship.  Those things matter.  And I'm not saying we need saints, we don't.  But this dude actually pulled a gun on a person and actually threatened to kill them.  That's a different level of poor judgment than we are used to and we aren't talking about the fine line between canonization and NFL player.

I dont think Gays situation speaks to low character. I threw and shattered a tv remote a few months ago I got so pissed arguing with my wife.

It's not as expensive as a vacuum, but she could easily have gotten scared and called the cops. It doesn't mean I'm low character. It means I have a bad temper.

He was suspended 8 games in college for academic fraud and he broke his own quarterback's orbital bone in the locker room before a college bowl game.   There have always been concerns about his character and temper.  He's just done a good job since becoming a Chief.
