kkuenn 3,598
3 years 30 mil. I just posted this too. Per Shefter Former Packers’ WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling is signing a three-year, $30 million deal worth up to $36 million with the Chiefs, per source. This is called living right: Valdes-Scantling goes from the NFL’s reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers to the NFL’s former MVP Patrick Mahomes.

Good to see you come around buy no need for PFF to tell you how he improved as he learned our system.

I always considered him to be in that range of players as far as how he ranked. I simply don't want to pay top dollar for that and others do. No big deal just my opinion. I wanted to have extra cash and cap space on hand to handle situations such as Tyreek when that arose, but thats now the past and i hope MVL can play better than he did for the packers in the chiefs system. even with this signing we still need to draft a WR early or sign/trade for a WR. MVS needs to be the #4 or #5 option along with Hardman, with Kelce, Juju, and (fill in the blank) being the 1 through 3 options.

This signing feels gross. He never put up great numbers playing with one of the best qbs in the league. This isn’t about replacing Hill, it’s about that group moving forward. Now I could be ok with this if we draft a wr with our top pick, and our wr group is essentially juju 1a, rookie 1b and Hardman 2a, Scantling 2b. Basically I’m saying if he’s the Demarcus Robinson replacement I can be ok with it despite feeling like we way overpaid, but if he’s depended on to be anymore than that, our offense is in trouble. He’s basically fast, with suspect hands and unimpressive route running according to everything I’ve read.

I think we may trade if value is right for a WR still. Use that then to go defense for 2 out of 3, maybe all 3 picks. DE will be a need next year too so maybe we go DE, CB and then DE. Still have a 2nd and two 3rds them to go after WR. 6 picks in top 100....if.. damn nice.

Plus we will be spreading the ball around so if he can prove to be even better, he will get more thrown his way.

Whats scary is the packers have no WR's on the roster and had no interest in bringing him back.

There was plenty of room for a receiver to step up behind him and it didn’t happen. AFCWEST
West 6,713
Source: Kansas City Chiefs add a WR, reach three-year deal with Marquez Valdes-Scantling 12:59 PM PT Wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is signing a three-year, $30 million deal worth up to $36 million with the Kansas City Chiefs, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. With the move, Valdes-Scantling goes from the NFL's reigning MVP in Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a former MVP in Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The agreement comes a day after the Chiefs traded star wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. For the Packers, it's another wide receiver the team will have to replace after trading star wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders last week. The speedy Valdes-Scantling has averaged 17.5 yards per catch since he entered the NFL in 2018, which is the fourth-highest average in the league over that span. He's the only player in the league to rank in the top 10 in yards per catch in each of the last three seasons (among those with a minimum of 25 catches). Valdes-Scantling, 27, also joined James Lofton as the only players in Packers' history with 25-plus receptions and an average of 15-plus yards per catch in each of his first four NFL seasons. ADVERTISEMENT After playing in every game over his first three seasons, he missed six games last season -- five because of a hamstring injury and one because of COVID-19. That limited him to just 26 catches (tying a career low) for 430 yards (a career low) and three touchdowns. A fifth-round pick of the Packers in 2018, Valdes-Scantling dropped 12 passes in his first three seasons combined but made it through the entire 2021 season without a drop, according to ESPN Stats & Information. He has 123 receptions for 2,153 yards and 13 touchdowns in 59 career games. ESPN's Rob Demovsky contributed to this report.
AFCWEST 1,238
Chiefs signed WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, formerly of the Packers, to a three-year, $30 million contract. $18 million comes in the first two years and the maximum value of the deal is $36 million. Valdes-Scantling missed some games for the first time this offseason, and thus had a 430-yard season, but he led the NFL in yards per reception in 2020 and has a career yards per reception of 17.5 in four seasons. This is probably a bit of an overpay for a wideout that doesn't offer much underneath, but it's good fantasy news for Juju Smith-Schuster and Travis Kelce. As for MVS, there are worse quarterbacks to work with in your career than Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes.
