The Raiders are putting in their bid for the AFC "Super Bowl or Bust" sweepstakes.  Problem is, Denver and LAC have done the same thing.  Guess the Chiefs should just tank for higher draft picks in the future.

I wouldn't say tank, but 6 years in a row of AFC Champs, winning the  SB and playing in another is a hell of an accomplishment.  So it might not be a bad idea to take it easy for a couple of years, win some games but don't try so hard to be the top dog in thew AFC, build thru the draft and trades,  then when the other teams will be in cap hell in a couple of years.  Then start kicking ass again in the AFC west.

Just a thought.

Naaa, keep going as hard as you can. Don't waste years of Mahomes. Pats did some great things without taking a year or two off we should strive for that.

UFC's Dana White: Tom Brady-Rob Gronkowski deal to Raiders in 2020 nixed by Jon Gruden: 'He didn't want him'

Two decades after being part of a play that denied the Raiders a shot at the Super Bowl, Tom Brady was apparently set on joining the silver and black during the 2020 offseason. But according to Rob Gronkowski, Brady joining the Raiders never came to fruition after then-Las Vegas coach John Gruden nixed the idea.

Speaking with Gronkowski on Saturday night, UFC president Dana White said he pieced together a deal that would have sent Brady and Gronkowski to Las Vegas ahead of the 2020 season.

"It was almost a done deal, and at the last minute, Gruden blew the deal up and said that he didn't want him, and all hell broke loose," White said. 'It was crazy. Brady was already looking at houses. It wasn't being said yet that Gronk was coming. So Las Vegas would have had Brady and Gronk the year that the Bucs won the Super Bowl, except Gruden blew the deal up."

"That is exactly what happened," replied Gronk while confirming White's story.

White's story seems to have confirmed what many suspected after Brady told HBO Sports about one particular team that did not seem to want him once he became a free agent.

The Las Vegas Raiders waived Alex Leatherwood, the No. 17 overall pick of the 2021 NFL draft, on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, cementing his unfortunate status as one of the biggest busts in recent draft history.

Leatherwood was coming off a rookie year in which Pro Football Focus ranked him No. 80 out of 82 guards in the NFL and dead last among guards who played at least 1,000 snaps. This preseason, which included an ill-fated move to right tackle, wasn't going much better:

He got drafted 3 or 4 rounds too high.  Shitty pick at the time, still sucks.  Some around here liked him but I didn't think he could move for shit.
